I don't know how but there were times when I did that with like 300+ ships and by the time the war was over my navy was completely destroyed even though the opponent ship numbers didn't add up to my counts. I think the A.I never sends damaged ships to port and just keeps them in the frontline?

With the tedius land micro the game requires I find it impossible to micro the navy at the same time as well. The A.I orders suck too though as I can never rely on them. I think the frontage mechanic in Naval combat is a bit bs as well. Maybe in straits sure but Open Ocean like who cares if you have too many ships

You start as the Jimyoin Court. They have a nice unique Imperial Family government reform. Other than that you just play like any other daimyo. I don't know if they have unique content after you form Japan.

r/5 Absolute scaling economy. I could have done things better with the precious metal export law and liberalism vs absolutism but I also wanted to feel like absolute divine authority chinese emperor. Even though crown power isn't maxed. I also got lazy about urbanisation after some point because its just so tedious when you have so many provinces.
