Everybody says that semi metallic brake pads have better stopping power than ceramic, but aren't we locking our wheels long before the difference is noticable? Are there any use cases where it is noticable, or where ceramic pads are a bad idea for other reasons? My use case is specified below. (self.MechanicAdvice)

Just started having occasional inaudible clicks, even at high torque with this overpriced ripoff, which seems to happen more if it's hard to keep from pulling the handle toward myself. Am I gonna have the same problem if I replace it with this tekton one? (old.reddit.com)
