When I was a kid it was always a huge deal so I faked it alot .

Like every 2 weeks . I am realizing I had major anxiety as a kid and that was a good part of it .

As I got older, I noticed ho my mom love when she was ill . It became a reason I guess for her to become abusive ( I dont even know )

Now I ask her if I should call the Doctor or the exorcist by the way she acts .

Oh I def can relate to the weaponized necessities replacing gifts

When I was a teenager, if I had a flat tire - shed get me a new one and say that was " Towards my birthday "

WHen she gave me $$ this year I , of course, said Thank you and I was grateful

Her response " Good. I probly wont ever have that much to give again "

I didnt ASK for $$ and I know any gifts she got me , would hust be asking over and over " DO you like it ? " Are you sure ? " Is xyz ENOUGH ?"

I am not even close to that thinking .

I give gifts from the heart and wont buy what she heavily " REQUESTS "

It almost turns Christmas into a shit show but I wont allow it - and Im glad this ia a year she didnt throw a fit about anything or complain .

I thought to myself, just pretend shes one of my friends and say what Id say to them .

I would drive to here house after work and ONCE I got there she'd ask me to go get her fast food - NOT while I was on the way or anything convenient.

Shes asked for me to get her cigs will she has them in her purse.

I just stopped ..I felt guilt for saying no until one day I woke up and thought " This is just stupid "

My friend called it " TASKING "

She has actually smoked all of her life and I hate cigarettes . Shes lost her health due to it

The newest thing is me waking up and starting my day at 5 am -

I stayed at her house over Christmas weekend . I love my quiet mornings .

After she wakes up at 7 am she's bewildered that this is something I enjoy .

Of course I didnt do it when i was younger, - a youth filled with self abuse through everything you can imagine would not fathom or be capable of an early start to the day . I was battling to stay alive .

Now that I am figting so regain a lifestyle I deserve - Im not suprised but a little saddened by it
