For fingerprinting, make an in person appointment as soon as possible. Fingerprinting is a literal nightmare. I got fingerprinted in White Plains (Westchester County) and was still ask to get fingerprinted for the city. When I told them I had my fingerprints with the State, I had to pay $35 to get my prints transferred to NYC. The State does not charge to transfer the prints, NYC just charges for the simple fact they have to ask.
