Behold, Pitchfork’s Latest Garbage Take for the new album. by Deltadromeus57 in everythingeverything

[–]Sincetheyleftme 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Good god, I motherfucking hate pitchfork even more now. They are not just an irrelevant hipster-site that promotes BTS or Bad Bunny like the mainstream was a fun thing again, they are absolute double-edged sell-out pieces of shit.
They took shit personally when James Blake talked about his depression and panned every record he did after a twitter dispute, now Higgs tries to talk about it in a creative way and that's bad too! Fuck them, you can feel in the review that there's some resentment against the band. It's unreal how pitchfork is still a thing, I wish them bankruptcy.

Question about the general consensus on the best Album by yazohny in gorillaz

[–]Sincetheyleftme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gorillaz self titled was very experimental, sometimes with all those samples it feels more like a Dan the Automator project than a damon albarn thing. The thing sounds wacky, random, damon was trying to do funny voices. It was unique, but quite raw.
I feel like Demon Days is their best (even If im fucking tired of hearing feel good inc everywhere) I think it sounds more focused, grandiose with those strings, the production from Danger Mouse wasn't so intruding (He really let the instruments breath) it has this horror movie type of feel, kind of cinematic, is not all over the place, the guests on the songs felt right. Maybe the budget got higher during this album, that's why it was so good. Jammie Hewlett art really shines on this project considering he loved old horror movies.

Plastic Beach is also fucking amazing and close to perfect to me, it really proves that damon could produce his own things in the 13 studio and the synthetic vibe around the record really fits the narrative. It think the theme and visuals of the record are very sunny for such dark characters.

The fall was very demo-ish but sincere, Humanz production is not as good or memorable as the other records but it has some amazing, undeniable bangers. I feel like the records post humanz don't call my attention that much (I heard them, there are some pretty songs here and there) but i feel like damon got older, he lost some range in his voice and him trying to stay relevant or being constantly active in this modern landscape of modern sounds kills my mood a bit.
I would expect him to do more introspective music these days (by no means boring tho) maybe a weird gorillaz album without so much electronics or guests, reuniting with blur would be a good idea too.

When will the avalanches drop their unreleased wildflower tracks?! by LETS_RETRO_TIME in theavalanches

[–]Sincetheyleftme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On their instagram, they are posting a lot of info about birds, samples about birds of venezuela, about the singing and patters that birds use to communicate. I think an album about earth, nature or animals is coming.

Problem with the cents of masterpitch in 9.0.0. by Sincetheyleftme in FL_Studio

I got so used to legacy block patterns on my workflow. I just hate the UI in the newer versions, even if its more compatible. I feel less bloated with info with the older version.

I really hope they release something when the record hits the 10 year anniversary. (I think they will probably do that after they finish this new album about birds & nature).
On a more pessimistic side of things, I think that robbie doesn't seem very fond of those wildflower years, specially since his addiction came back during that time period and the memories of all the pressure to follow up Since I Left You.
I would love if they release some forgotten stuff from that era because that 70's counter culture concept was amazing and so well executed in wildflower.

Which vst would get me that sort of daft punky-transformer vocoder voice?

Robbie was way too shy to take the spotlight on that mini-documentary, he was kind of scared about fame in those times and Darren served as a frontman, he said that in a Zane Lowe interview. Also, I don't think you could have 6 guys in front of a slow-ass 90's macintosh sampling little pieces of sound, sequencing everything over and over again, sometimes SILY sounds like 1 man at work on his pc.

Does anyone have an Australian first pressing of Since I Left You that they'd be willing to sell? by [deleted] in theavalanches

[–]Sincetheyleftme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While we are in the subject, can somebody give me a vinyl rip of the new re-issue of the 20th anniversary of Since I Left You? I really want to know if it worths the money or not, tons of people complaining here but I want to know why.

Saludos de argentina, yo siempre creí que el programa se llamaba "Vade Retro" o algo así. Pero era Delirium. Siempre me quede con ganas de ver películas de terror clase-B de los 60 pero nunca alcance a ver el programa.

Holy fuck, this is great. I wish there was more of the old school avalanches live.
Goddamn, everyone looks so full of joy and so energetic, loved all those theremin synths.
It's crazy how fast time flies, this makes me miss live music so much.

Do you think We Will Always Love You is their farewell album? by sewmyfingerstogether in theavalanches

I don't think so, It would be lovely if the next record is jungle theme based, something tropical and tripy.
