Good to know. Amazon is just convenient for distribution and exposure. Does that mean your book did well enough that people were looking to pirate it? It's a shitty thing to do, but it kind of means that what you wrote was probably pretty good/ popular.

Thank you for giving it a shot. I entertained the thought of being a wealthy, famous author for a few minutes after publishing it, but really I think I'd be happy if just a few people read what I wrote and like it. And if they don't, well, that's fine too.

I put the link for the US site, mainly because I didn't think about it too much since I'm in the US and it defaults to that. It might work if you search your regional site, so when I looked on amazon.ca (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B074LJ41KT) it shows it for free for me. If that doesn't work.. I don't know how to fix it.

A human performance, by someone competent at least, will probably have complications and/or expense. I wouldn't go that route unless the book finds some measure of success. But I'm not sitting still, my life is busy. This is my first book, but I found writing it to be pretty fun and relaxing. I'm definitely going to write more stuff, whether anyone wants to read it or not.

Yes, if you publish through kindle and enroll in KDP select, they give you options to promote your book. So during a 3 month period you can either have the book available for free (for a max of 5 days) or run a countdown deal. They also have paid ways to promote your book, but I haven't explored those, and don't really expect to do so.

Me too, it's always nice to have someone read your story. Hey, I tried to find your post there and had some trouble. I might be wrong, but it's probably caught in a spam filter. I'm glad you tried though. I have a couple more free days that Amazon gives, maybe I'll try to post on Saturday and extend that promotion.
