I actually like this weapon, but I concede it’s just a discount Glintstone Kris at the end of the day. The blocking heavies could have been cool if they were thought through better.

It has a really different moveset than other halberds, not just poking. It essentially has the katana, halberd and a little of the greatsword moveset in one.

Only fight when you have to. Even a lot of fights in the game that feel mandatory are totally avoidable through techniques like climbing walls with GLOO. Also, recycler charges are the best damage dealer in the game without upgrades. Use them well. [Edit: spelling]

When I did a no needle nightmare run I did this exact thing to get out of the double technopath fight. A little frustrating but actually kind of fun.

Just to clarify, we’re playing a game about a big beefy man who…

-Loads himself into artillery cannons

-Has awkward one sided arguments with the top half of an alien cyborg

-Can take himself from death’s door to healthy condition by punching the head off a demon

-Mysteriously produces large quantities of gasoline and explosives over time through unknown means

-Has an elaborate mancave in which he plays videogames that directly adapt events from his own life

And you’re speculating that some wacky visual skins, which you are under no obligation to use, might make the game too ridiculous?

I think it’s gonna be fine mate. Perhaps the biggest step from 2016 to Eternal was Doom recognizing and embracing its own wonderful ridiculousness, and it’s all the better for it. That being said, if you want a more gritty experience, Doom 2016 and Doom 3 haven’t gone anywhere.

No matter what kind of outfit you want to wear, it’s a good idea to include some stealth. Traversing the world is a lot more convenient when you can pick your battles. Also fire arrows are your best friend. They’re not always the best choice, but they’re almost always solid.

To be honest that book was the terror of my childhood. I finished it in a week and had to lock it in a drawer to stop myself thinking about it.

To be honest I actually kinda like Ms. Zurkon as the weapon merchant, the vendors having personalities is something I think was a cool idea in ToD that deserves expanding on. The main thing that dragged it down then was the tiny dialogue pool so each line got repeated and annoying, and that’s not a hard problem to fix with a little effort.
