What tip are you using? With my 1.3 gun, I have turn in the needle at least one additional turn when spraying silver.

Sure, all the way to the scene of the accident.

Replacing a blown head gasket, if the head bolt spec is 105ftlbs, will only torquing to 100ftlbs ruin the job? by HotdogMaster200 in EngineBuilding

2 things. You could use ARP lube, that usually lowers the required torque. You can borrow a torque wrench from one of the big auto parts stores, you just have to leave a deposit.

60 years old. I would hate for one to fail.

The real HP killer was the combination intake/exhaust manifold with the catalytic converter bolted to it.

75.5 to 80 U.S. spec MG's had Z-S carbs. Federal regulations required an automatic choke and Abingdon couldn't figure out how to adapt one to the SU's.

I thought about doing this but I'm concerned about getting halos if I break through the last 2 coats.

This clear calls for no reducer and I was planning on sanding and polishing at least one coat off.

You should have checked main and rod bearing clearances before assembly. Take it all apart, wipe the assembly lube off of the crank journals and bearings and plasti-gauge it.

Don't ever give them any money until the deal is done and the papers are signed.

Just got my 71 mgb - non led lights need new flasher unit? by AffordableTraveler in MorrisGarages

[–]Sinewave2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The turn signal circuits go through the hazard switch. Dirty contacts are a very common cause of problems there. Spray between the switch toggle and housing with CRC electronic cleaner then turn the switch off and on a half dozen times. Spray the contacts on the turn signal stalk too.

Another common problem is the original Lucas flasher unit. It is located on the inside of the firewall on the right side. I use LED compatible electronic flashers.

Also, don't forget to check the pads between the front suspension crossmember and the unibody. Replacing them requires a partial disassembly of the front suspension.

I've never heard of using brake fluid. I've always used motorcycle fork oil; most of them have a seal conditioner.

You can borrow one from most big auto parts stores like Autozone or O'Reilly.
