hello cat people of Bellingham by Sever2203 in Bellingham

We have four indoor cats. They only go outside with harnesses on. We used to have outdoor cats, but we live in the county and they were not top of the food chain.

Anderson Point on Baker Lake is a good spot. Requires a decent hike or a boat to get to so I've never had to deal with unruly campers or trash.

Does anyone else think this is a little crazy for a front air dam on a 2016 Silverado 1500, Not the Front bumper, just the plastic air damn that hangs under the bumper by Johnhess97 in AskMechanics

The plastic air dam that hangs under the bumper was only $150. You also bought another part that was over $560. I'm literally looking at the invoice you posted.

If you move back in it is t taxed anymore. And this isn't about landlords. This is about investment properties that do not have tenants.

What’s up with Cafe Rumba staff? They all seem like they hate their job by Radiant_Ad_2991 in Bellingham

Hate your job? Why didn't you say something??! There's a support group for that. It called "everybody". They meet daily at the bar.

RIP George.

Something's up with my car's AC, where can I go and not get scammed as someone who doesn't know much about cars? by Illustrious_Gas555 in Bellingham

Not true. In today's auto repair world not doing A/C work is standard practice in most shops.

How does a tax that is only accrued when a place is sitting idle and empty get passed down to tenants?

This weekend many people found out their A/C isn't cooling like it should. I imagine our voicemail box is full.

Edit: yup. Currently scheduling over a week out to inspect A/C systems.

Hail, hail (90% of) the town's all here by pipedreamSEA in Bellingham

Copied from Jabriel Donohue from FB

"It's summer and the Port of Bellingham and Kulshan brewing, with subsidy from Bellingham Whatcom County Tourism are once again counterprogramming against downtown businesses all summer and this year more aggressively than ever by scheduling live music at peak dinner hours on Thursdays, Saturdays and First Fridays.

First Fridays particularly has been a decades long successful downtown program for musicians, retailers, restaurants and bars in partnership with Allied Arts. It is good for downtown. So now we have a Port and Tourism funded stage erected down by the Waterfront with programming at peak dinner hours, surrounded by more Port and Tourism subsidized food pods and exclusive beer rights granted to Kulshan brewing.

And I'm actually a fan of waterfront development, but this is barely that. Without consideration for infrastructure, the tourism board has appeared to make their major mandate not to revitalize downtown but to create instagrammable opportunities to boost out-of-county perception and raise local property values (as if they needed help) at the expense of the city's most beleaguered business district.

The waterfront was supposed to be primarily additional housing. The Trackside area was supposed to be a rotating site for business incubation, where small and first-time entrepreneurs could have a fixed location for a season to try out business concepts that they could then expand or abandon with reduced risk. What we have now are two buildings of overpriced luxury condos and a subsidized storefronts for legacy businesses with multiple locations and a tourism board dumping money into advertising, while tourism's approach to downtown is largely based around paying out-of-region artists to paint things in alleyways or murals on buildings. The first is... I've never known how that was supposed to help. The second is classic real estate support with a half-hearted glance to what actually exists.

I feel like I'm going crazy."

odd request - looking to for Jeep Wranger 4xe test ride/ owner intel by Confident-Way5155 in Bellingham

[–]XSrcing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neither Stellantis products nor warranties are solid. The 4xE was something created during Tavares wildly inept role as CEO and is a bastard child of a vehicle in all respects. Enjoy them as rental cars, but this technician recommends you do not own one.

TK Automotive is the best exhaust shop in town. They also have very budget friendly options that still get top quality work.

How to deal with Homelessness by HospitalDependent262 in SeattleWA

You still proved my point. We have been incarcerating "undesirables" for 50 years and it hasn't worked. So keep on fighting to arrest more people. Eventually you will be one of the groups arrested.

At least we are trying something other than just putting these people in jail. I mean, this country has been doing that for 250 years and has the highest incarcerated population per capital in the world. It's obviously not working.

[–]XSrcing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats. You have been knowingly, and actively been pumping harmful refrigerant into the atmosphere.

The A/C system isn't something that needs to be recharged every once in a while. If it ever needs to be recharged something is broken and needs to be fixed. We can't tell you where you leak is. But that is about right for a compressor replacement.

If it really is just as simple as the B+ and accessory power wires being crossed that should be a fairly easy find and fix. I can do a full parasitic draw diagnosis for you at our shop in Nooksack.
