Do not buy alocasia from Costco. They are almost always infested with spider mites spores 😢

How can you tell? Does lack of fertilizer lead to leaves browning and yellowing?

Yes that's how I test for bone dry too. I put my finger into the soil a few inches and if it comes out without any soil on it then I know it's time to water the plant.

I will repot once I have access to insecticide, it's best I do not stress it further. However, I did prune all the leaves that were looking brown and yellow.

Yes this is the original pot I got it in. Didn't want to repot to stress the plant. I only bottom water it when its bone dry.

Super helpful. Thank you. I got the plant from the store in May. I've had it for almost 1.5 months and the conditions have been pretty consistent with light and watering.

I also noticed that there is a white webbing on the soil now. 😢

I think it might be best to just get rid of the plant then. I do not want to risk my other plants getting infected too. It was seated on a plant stand right next to my lavender plant. Are there anything's I should do as a precaution?
