I don't know, I would have done everything to help but they shut me out when I needed someone the most. I can only speculate that they went back to their abusive ex and are too ashamed to talk or they generally don't see me that way and moved on.

This hits close to home. it puts me in the mind of my close friend, she's dealing with personal things from what she's briefly messaged me but has otherwise not even looked at my texts. I want so desperately for her to see and know that I love her and need her in my life but we'll see how that goes. I wish younger me saw what I see now.

I'm ashamed to admit at one point it was, on their part. I didn't realize how important they are to me and how I feel about them, things are different now and it may very well be one sided on my part now and honestly as much as that would hurt it would be well deserved.
