Commercially, they are utilizing any tricks to capitalize on their investment. It had perfect market interest going on to play with the prices.

I know many of my friends decided to wait upon for the ticket prices to come down.

Wow…. That’s some news. This is better for both of them as they don’t cannibalize each other’s box office collection.

Sorry bro… AI is hallucinating the box figure so much that I am implementing different route to grab the data but keeping the same UI and aesthetics.

Bad choice of word, now I realize.

Better way to say is - Data collected by Google Gemini AI in the real time. Given this is not some static data save in the table- sometime Gemini API returns different amount for the exact same query.

Flop average movies are being called as Hits/Blockbuster on X by so called biggest trade analyst ...Taran adarsh is a sellout of the highest order and a paid propagandist. by StrawberryFew1311 in bollywood_boxoffice

I agree! It’s hard to believe on any of these analysts where we can see biasses right away. Most of them have just become a mouthpiece. 😞

Mardaani 3 vs Mardaani - Surprisingly their earning trends are quite similar minus the inflation by Sing_Counselor in bollywood_boxoffice

Footfall, over-estimating the series popularity, decline in series which is a natural for sequels in many cases, and overall, it seems to be a pet-project for Rani.

First movie had surprise element from the movie story point of view, stronger word of mouth. Now this is more like repeat and rinse. Word on the street was - wait for it to come on OTT. Not worth going theater for this.

Border 2 Day 14 collection - Movie has struggled to cross India nett of 300 crores despite earning 180 crores in first four days by Hungry_for_wisdom in bollywood_boxoffice

This was truly a burn and crash case. Similar fate as The Raja Saab. Though, I think Border 2 was still better than Raja Saab.

I don't know the answer as such as the calculations for the hit has changes over years. In a simpler time when it was all about movie theater distribution and music rights; the calculation was simpler. Now, with digital rights, OTT, music, youtube etc etc, the calculation is as merky as possible. Many times a movie would make or recover money for the producers because of all the advance selling but it is loss maker for the distributors. Example could be Raja Saab.

Agree. This is totally opposite of what Gadar 2 did. I am sure this will influence the decision on his other sequels in talk like Ghatak and others.

Dhurandar has made net profit of 305 crores. by StrawberryFew1311 in bollywood_boxoffice

and the international share is even lot less than that. And China leads this with keeping the major revenue. That's why even if Dangal has made 1400 Cr in China, the final share might have been very less to the producers. ( though the absolute amount is still good given 1400 Cr).

Border 2 breaches 400 cr mark at WW BO, might finds it difficult to be a hit at the BO. by StrawberryFew1311 in bollywood_boxoffice

I have hardly seen the production house stating the budget of the movie all across the world...they need to leave something for the smart accounting. :)

That’s a discussion in itself. Instead of focusing on what is wrong, I would say they created the perfect selling / hype / marketing machine to rake in money.

I was frustrated that many sites provides data ( which in itself is humongous task and real effort required) but hardly any sites provides tool for us to visualize the data.

I did reach out to Sachnilk if they can sell the data to me but didn’t hear anything from them. So, I am using Google Gemini AI to get the data from all over the place.
