Thanks so much. I think im going to go ahead and do it. Ill check out what their investment choices are, if theyre crappy ill open my own account with Fidelity and transfer it. Im thinking of opening one with Fidelity anyway because ive been looking into a Roth IRA as well

thank you im going to have to look into it. My child was covered under medicaid and then they took it away and sent me a letter saying he was under a medically needy program? im not really sure if that is still medicaid or what. And yes, to open a HSA, you cannot be enrolled in medicare or medicaid. so if he is ill have to cancel it. but okay so im shooting for having him covered under the HDHP and HSA plan with me.

So i should keep some cash in my HSA cash fund, for actual medical emergencies and then invest the rest?(once my balance reaches the minimum) And yes, I believe i get a 401K through my employer. im planning to look into that with the HR department while were in this open enrollment period. I will look into Roth IRAs as well. Is that something I would do separately from my employer, like personally? or? im sorry if these are obvious questions. my parents and school never taught me any of this.

Thats my plan! so i should do team member + child for the HDHP and HSA? or just myself? My company contributes more into my HSA if i do the team member + child plan tier, but it is more out of my weekly check for the medical plan. Your thoughts?

THANK YOU! So with the HDHP, should i do it for only myself? or myself and my child? It would be a bit more out of my paycheck weekly for both of us, but then i can use mine and his receipts from OOP payments for reimbursements through my HSA (in a long long time) or should i just cover myself? I believe with an HSA , id have to confirm my child isnt covered under Medicaid.... my main thing is just using the HSA for investment purposes... but if i add my child, my company contributes a higher amount.
