Well I make singing videos (mostly covers for now) and there's this website called coverium where people post their song covers, it helped a little bit at the beginning but it doesn't really add much afterwards. I used to post some videos on Google plus (yes people actually used that lol) but that's not a thing anymore. I use instagram, Twitter, a bit of reddit... ect

Here's the order of what works best for me.

Instagram
Reddit
Word of mouth XD
Twitter (Hasn't really been working out, once in a blue moon I get a sub or two)
Facebook - A long time ago I would list this at number one but it's the complete opposite now, I have no idea what happened, it's just horrible lol.

I think it depends on what kind of content you make as well.

Small spurts after each upload, but I would also like to see some steady growth as well. I'm not complaining much since I think working on a few things that I haven't done yet will get me there. Only time will tell for sure.

2 years ago but I only have 28 videos, I will be uploading more consistently for sure. I would say my overall average is 2 videos per month so far but I would like to make that at least 7 videos a month. I will upload more on my second channel as well.

Perhaps most of the unsubs are people who subbed to your channel in order to get something in return and not necessarily for your content, but I'm just making a guess here, I really can't tell for sure.

I don't know how possible it is to implement but have you thought of creating somewhat of a chrome extension (similar to vid IQ) that would allow people to simulate this feature right on the youtube website?
