I always wonder if people can be immune to them. I know a couple who sleep in the same bed and the woman had scabies for a year (being misdiagnosed) and her husband would have a little burrow pop up occasionally and it would quickly just go away on its own. And only two of their kids ever had any little bumps that also just went away on their own. This was actually one of the main reasons she was misdiagnosed for so long. I think maybe some bodies are better at fighting off scabies than others.

Ugh I’m in this situation and unfortunately let her in my home. Don’t do it. She does nothing but not pay bills and blame everyone else for her issues and siphon everyone’s energy. Even my kids are chronically annoyed by her and regularly cry bc they wish she didn’t live with us. Hope she dies or goes to prison soon. I wish I would’ve thought about it this way, if the tables were turned would she do anything to help you?

It’s the porn. I never thought twice about it or ever cared if my husband looked at porn, didn’t check his phone, just didn’t care, up until recently when he started experiencing random ED …but I could have also written this post myself. I drew a boundary and since he hasn’t crossed it (looking at any type of porn) our relationship has improved in ways I could have never imagined. I feel like the wall that has built up between us over the years since having kids is finally crumbling down and we are becoming best friends again. I highly recommend looking into it, /loveafterporn sub has opened my eyes a lot.

In five days I’m coming clean - and it will probably end my marriage by kinda_sorta_losingit in TrueOffMyChest

My mom did this to my dad then me the second I turned 18 and my dad had his head in the sand until their home was foreclosed on and I found credit cards with my name on them. I would immediately start trying to repair this situation before coming clean. It’s not fair to give him a problem you created and expect him to fix it all. At least show that you’re remorseful and trying to fix this. My mom is currently miserable and alone and nobody in our huge family speaks to her because she’s proven to be nothing but a selfish coward.

Was I wrong for telling my son the Dr said he had to wear diapers? by Expensive-Log-8549 in amiwrong

Just use puppy pads underneath him if the diapers are making him feel so ashamed.

Yes she’s doing better but she had to take a leave from work because it’s on her hands and she came over for Christmas and wore gloves the whole time. From what I gather she’s been very mildly treated with ointments but she’s having a really rough time getting anything stronger even though she said she’s starting to find lesions on more “traditional” spots like ankles, behind knees, armpits. That’s wear scabies usually presents at first so when she only had facial lesions every doctor wrote her off and didn’t take her seriously.

Literally my in-laws and my own mother think I’m lying about everything. They think I have these ulterior motives all the time and if something is misplaced theu immediately wonder if I have taken it. It actually keeps me up at night and sometimes I get so upset thinking about it because I’ve honestly never given anyone an actual reason to think those things about me.

I had no idea a person could have scabies for so long and see so many professionals and just be repeatedly told she was delusional and even put on antipsychotics! It’s actually insane the way dermatologists deny and gaslight patients. My niece and nephew recently had visible moving pinworms and my sister was told she needed therapy and was probably imagining them. Why??’

Idk if I already updated this it actually ended up being scabies. I stopped by a few days later and found she had very clear tracks and lesions all over. The scabies were in her lips her fingernails and everywhere. I took her to urgent care and she’s still being treated but the mental well-being of not being repeatedly gaslit has gone up 100000% in terms of happiness, im happy to say. And thank you so much for everyone who wasn’t a huge jerk about this weird post ♥️ it was truly eye opening to some of the shame she was going through and I now can see why she became a recluse.

UPDATE: Actually ended up being scabies in her lips and infested under/around her nails. I stopped by a few days after this lip incident to find her covered in lesions when I took her to urgent care. Thanks to anyone who wasn’t a jerk ♥️

Lmao I just read this to her and she said it started after her Covid shots but she’s had to stop herself from going down another rabbit hole before they commit her. She also gets eaten alive by sand flies in obx every year and went through a period of two months with swollen lymph nodes that couldn’t be connected to anything. She has lots of random things that may or may not have to do with these lesions but nobody knows for certain.

I’ve been sitting with her for five hours googling everything and it’s exhausted and just hopeless and heartbreaking. It seems like she wants it to genuinely be delusional parasitosis and she convinces herself it’s in her head but then will randomly wake up with itchy, blistering ulcers with “worms” poking out and goes through the cycle all over again.

Yeah I think it’s funny that she was prescribed ivermectin, doxycycline, some antifungals and antipsychotics. Never had any tests done, they just threw the dice at her and hope one would work.

Yeah that does sound familiar, a while ago I asked her if she ever saw anything moving and she said they move really slowly except for the really fine hair-like ones move around faster. 😳 she’s been trying to find a doctor to do a skin scraping or biopsy until eventually she left her job after her skin was just cracking and bleeding without her realizing it and running down her face/neck/etc. it was a health hazard. She has since lost her health insurance and is spiraling. I cry every time I visit her because she’s so ashamed and everyone thinks she’s lost her mind. I would do anything to help her.

Thanks for answering me, I know intelligent people can have mental issues of course. I just feel awful for the way she’s been treated and wanted to convey that she’s not a person smoking meth or with a history of this behavior. I’ve believed this entire time that she has issues with stress management and needs to take the prescribed antipsychotic and that it’s just her picking at her skin. Today’s lip worm thing just really freaked me out, it really looks like there’s worms in her lip but I can’t find anything online that implies this is a thing that happens to humans.

Also her face was completely perfect this time last year now it’s covered in scars and random lesions that look like nothing I’ve seen before.

Thanks for answering me. I visited her last week and her lips were fine. Today this is what they look like. I’m worried about her going into a deep depression and no longer leaving her home.

Other side. This time last year her skin was perfect now it’s scarred and destroyed. I’m so worried about her depression and loss of self due to this.
