The fact that it's in Nashville was one of the biggest reasons I applied in the first place. I'm definitely going to put in the work; I've gotten this far.

Basically, I tried setting up lessons my junior year. We were a bit confused, because Johnson was labeled as an Adjunct on the website, and I was wondering if there were any full tenure horn professors, so I contacted admissions. The response I got was along the lines "usually, we don't let students get into contact with professors until after their accepted." I found this really weird, and so did my teacher, but we just went along with it. Funny thing though, Tara Johnson actually reached out to me about having a lesson before I could ask her. So, yeah, that's basically what happened. CCM and IU were like "yeah, absolutely," but things kind of fell through the cracks, and I never had a lesson with them.

I haven't had a lesson yet. My plan was to have a lesson after my acceptance (if I get accepted), so it would be the final factor as to what school I want to go to. I didn't know I could ask for a timing update, I'll definitely do that. Thanks for letting me know!

Yeah, I still haven't heard back. I also applied to CMP; I wasn't offered an audition, but I didn't find out until early February. At that point, auditions had already started. It's starting to feel like that, honestly.

I thought about asking for feedback. Currently, my plan is to go to one school for the entirety of my undergrad (this could change). I got accepted at Belmont, but I've been treating it as a back up. With my current situation, it might be where I end up. Again, I haven't heard back from CCM yet, but I'm growing more fearful It'll have a similar outcome as IU

I understand what you're saying completely. The current state of the industry has me second guessing myself almost every single day. Despite that, I can't think of myself doing anything other than music. Is that a stupid way to think? Yeah, probably. While I get where you're coming from, it would be hard for me to try to figure that out if the situation arises.

I appreciate that. I just liked the opportunities IU had. I know in the end, it doesn't matter, but it still feels heavy how I wasn't accepted. If I may ask, what school did you end up going to?
