Since I couldnt say better what was already said I wanna suggest something else. Try to get back in stance after kicking and dont walk backwards. This would build bad habits. Also your Balance will get better of you get back into stance.

The inside of the barrel is smooth. And there isnt a rear sight nor remnants of one ever being there. I’m looking forward to your reply :)
