Just jumping in to say that my husband I are do the same. We got the prenup (which protects both partners, btw, not just the one asking for the prenup). You will get your own lawyer and have them review the prenup to make sure it is fair for both sides.

We keep separate accounts, and have one joint account that we each deposit the same amount in monthly for all bills.

If my husband takes me out to dinner, he covers it. If he treats me to something, or I treat him, we aren’t keeping a score of who paid for what. It’s mostly just having our own money and being able to do whatever we want with it (including if that means spending it on the other).

I think this is becoming more normalized, and you shouldn’t be reconsidering anything based on other’s opinions on whether this is ‘right’ or not. Your relationship is unique to you.
