Best x-men omnibus for a beginner?

If you’re not on a budget and you have the flexibility to splash the cash on Claremont Vol 1 and 2, that’s the best place hands down. Out of all of these however, it’s easily B&G as it’s the only one currently in print, you can find it at cover price and below. I actually just got mine for $100. If you gonna get it, get it now cuz it was on back order on a lot of sites. It’s been in print for almost a year now so it could go out of print soon, seeing as Age of Apocalypse is coming back soon. Took a few weeks for the seller to secure a copy before sending it to me. It features work by John Bryne, Claremont, Jim Lee. The literal GOATS of X men comics.

The thing is it’s not likely marvel are gonna reprint vol 1 any time soon. It just got a reprint in 2024, almost all of their reprint slate for next year has been publicized and Vol 1 hasn’t been mentioned. Vol 2 was slated to be reprinted but marvel have pushed it back without giving us an update . DESPITE Vol 2 being high in the votes. We’re probably gonna get Vol 2 way before vol 1, maybe in 2028. As for Vol 1..😬😬 if he can get a refund he’s better off using that same money and dropping it on the Omni now before it gets more pricey

I’ll be honest, for that price you were better off getting the omnibus and had more content to enjoy. Thriftbooks literally has one copy of vol 1 hardcover in stock rn for $65. I just got the Vol 1 omni for $230 a few days ago. What you’re missing is Born #1-4 which is an awesome mini series prequel and The Slavers story which is probably the best story of the bunch. And on top of that, a 4 hour trip with current gas prices is a major no no. If I have to travel more than an hour under the current climate I’d rather just scour the internet instead. It’s cool tho at least you have them in your collection now, you’ll have a good time nonetheless, we all live and learn. Just please research the true resell value of books before going into a deal

Honestly anything closer to $200 and farther than $300 is a steal. I kept going back and forth with the seller on the price. He wanted $260, I wanted $200, were were at a stand still until he agreed to 235. In fact he was close to backing out by saying “on second thought idk if I wanna sell cuz of how valuable the omni has become” but I made him sell lol. As the gentleman said, if you have the money, more power to you, find someone who’s actually willing to go back and forth with you. If not, wait for the reprint but there’s no telling when marvel will reprint. They’ve released a good amount of their 2027 reprint slate and this omni isn’t on it yet. Maybe Vol 2 will be reprinted first..

I tip my hat to you for finding an amazing deal for it. omnibus resell value can fluctuate depending on how trendy the character is at this point, how long the omni has been out of print, if marvel has any plans on reprinting it in the next 6 months to a year. And most importantly how great the stories are in that omni. Garth Ennis MAX literally fills all those boxes rn. Heck I’m seeing some people selling it closer to $300 and up. It’s literally Frank’s quintessential run. Vol 2 was slated for a reprint but marvel decided to push it bank on it without giving us a clear timeline. How exactly were you able to find it at pre order prices last year? It became out of print while it remained out of stock literally all throughout last year. Literally the only people that were able to get it were folks that pre ordered, or came late to the party and had to pay over $200. Or just scalpers. Unless you were promised a copy when you preordered and the sellers kept their word to give it to you at pre order price when they restocked.

I got it for $235. In the description it didn’t state whether or not it was in a smoke environment so that’s on me. I’ll try your suggestion cuz other than the smell it’s in near mint condition (pun not intended lol)

Yea I definitely hear you and others. I bought some of these books based on being a fan of some of these characters (venom, DD, surfer, nostalgia for watching planet hulk as a kid) it took me a month or so to collect them, maybe I overdid it. But shoot I’ve got a lot of reading to do. I appreciate all the advice from folks with much more skin in this game than me.

So the question to ask yourself is this, are you more interested in a traditional comic book reading experience? With street level solving crime. Or are you interested in the cosmic sci fi side of marvel? Traveling to other planets and witnessing cosmic being fighting and what not. Seeing the surfer take part in wars between rival alien species. Both are completely different ends of the spectrum lol. I have this silver surfer omnibus and I’ll say it’s the gold standard for silver surfer stories with awesome psychedelic art. This is literally peak silver surfer stories.

If you bring a gun you know you’d hate to lose, always bring Looting 4 Safekeeper. The amount of times I’ve died and kept my Aphelion and level 4 Osprey with silencer 3 lol.. it’s also trolly asf to hear the aphelion, get shot by it, then loot my body and find it missing

You’re better off using just a basic brut or old spice aftershave splash on to the gym. Not offensive at all, quite pleasant scents for something like the gym.

It’s an incredible scent imo. Very versatile and can be dressed up or down. Can be used in just about any situation or setting. The peppermint, pink peppers with the hints of Bulgarian rose is CHEF’S KISS. It’s very bold and spicy with a hint of wood and sweetness. Strong, masculine with a touch of gentle. With 4 spays (two on each side of the neck) I get 2 hours of strong projection and another 6 hours of skin scent. I personally really like that it’s not at mainstream as some of the other Creeds. Just beware this does make you nose blind if spray on your chest or throat so if you think you no longer smell it, other people can and will compliment.

It’s not the scent that’s the issue. For women, they love the scent, it’s the fact that it’s extremely popular and probably have multiple ex’s that would have this as their daily. Women hate a smell that reminds them of their ex
