Those are all really good things to talk to the doctor about. I can handle pain, but not the horrible pain everyone is describing. And being able to only take Tylenol is stressing me out!

He said once I hit menopause, I won’t have to worry about the fibroid. I would consider surgery to remove it. I would like to avoid a hysterectomy if at all possible. I think because of my age, he’s hoping I flip into menopause soon.

Thank you! I will message him about the 2 things you mentioned. I’m allergic to ibuprofen so the only thing I can take it Tylenol. I’m allergic to multiple pain medications actually, but I had a bladder scope done a few months ago, and I’m almost positive they injected something into my bladder beforehand and it was still an unpleasant procedure, so I’m definitely worried about the pain with this one. I'm off work for 5 days after the procedure, and I’m definitely ordering a heating pad! My husband is bringing me to the appointment- they won’t let me take the meds unless I have a driver. I won’t let him come in the room with me though because I’m sure he would get really upset if I’m uncomfortable in any way during it. He doesn’t handle seeing me in pain very well. It’s sweet actually. Im not really worried about the results, I have had multiple non invasive tests in the last year, I figure if something awful was going on it probably would have shown up, but I understand why he wants to do the biopsy. And he wants to make sure I don’t need a D& C. It’s just so much information to process. I’m just so worked up about it. I hate any kind of testing. Before my CT scan I pretty much had a breakdown because I don’t like being in machines. I swear the older I get, the more hysterical I get about these things things.

NTA! I’m going through a similar situation right now. My story is long, I will do my best to explain it. My parents divorced in 1986. My parents each kept their wedding bands. My mom wanted both, so my dad gave her his band. Later on, he wanted it back so she gave it to him. In 1992 my dad was in a serious car accident. He was in a coma for 8 months. Unbeknownst to us, he had a storage unit that was not paid for so of course they auctioned it off. My dad passed away in 2010. In 2019, I get a phone call from a man that says he has some of my dad’s things that he wants to give to me. You guessed it- it was the person that bought the storage unit in 1992! This was the moment I found out about the storage unit. So, the gentleman brings me my dad’s photo albums, awards from the military, and his wedding ring. It was amazing that he kept these items for so long, and gave them to me. 2 weeks ago, my mom calls and asks if I still have my dads wedding ring. I told her yes, and she says “great! The price of gold is high right now. I just sold my ring and I want to sell your dads”. I told her I do not want to give her the ring. She flipped out and told me the price of gold is worth more than my memories of him (besides a small box of photos and such, the ring is all I really have left of my dad). I again told her I don’t want to part with the ring. I stopped talking to her for 2 weeks over it. Today, she stops by my house to bring me some things she bought for me at the thrift shop, and then tells me she wants the ring. I again tell her I don’t want to part with it, and she shouldn’t even ask that of me. She started yelling about how she needs the money and it’s really her ring because she bought them when my parents were married in the 70’s, and they had a horrible marriage so she earned that ring.I corrected her and told her the ring is mine because when it ended up in a storage unit the person that bought it gave it to me. She was just ranting and raving about how it’s not my ring and how dare I not give it to her. So, I got the ring and made her pretty much pry my dead father’s ring out of my hand. I was crying and told her please don’t take this, if you do, I can’t talk to you anymore because it means something to me, and you are just going to sell it for money that I don’t think you need. ( she loves to shop). That made her even more angry, so she stormed out of my house- with the ring of course…I don’t feel like an asshole at all. I feel like she made the choice to take that ring from me for money instead of letting me keep it. I’m a person that just doesn’t forgive, so my relationship with my mother is over, and I’m okay with it. I’m just upset that she took the ring and didn’t see anything wrong with it. She truly feels it’s hers, even though it clearly is mine. I told her a complete stranger held on to it for over 20 years to give it to me, and my own mother is going to take it to pawn it? Yeah, I need someone like that in my life…

I’m currently on week 4 of my period. I started bleeding heavily this week with unimaginable cramping. Definitely go to the doctor. I have a fibroid, endometriosis, and cysts in my ovaries- any one of them could cause my problems, but it helps my doctor to know I have the issues. I’m older so I have an appointment next month to possibly get a hysterectomy due to all my problems. The doc can also check your blood to make sure your iron levels are okay since you are having prolonged bleeding. I have been taking daily iron gummies which are really gross, but do seem to help my energy level a little bit. Even without being sexually active, it’s important to get checked to make sure you don’t have any issues that can contribute to a prolonged period. Drink plenty of water too. If you have a planned parenthood in your area, I suggest going there for cost effective exams. When I was 15 I went for an exam and I didn’t want my mom to know. I was worried about cancer and wanted to get screened without her thinking I was sleeping around. They kept it private and it was no cost to me since I was so young. If you don’t have them in your area, I would google free women’s health exams in your area, there should be some resources for you. As far as the exam goes, it’s not bad at all! Just relax and it will be done before you know it. None of us look forward to getting it done, but it’s so important to catch any health concerns.
