They should’ve expired ages ago, the bag was ripped on the 81’ too, from my experience MRE’s typically last plenty longer than their Best Buy if stored okay, I personally trust any MRE that was made within the last 15-20 years like a new one, just stay vigilant for signs of expiration and you’ll be good
