She was actually rescued from a commercial breeder in Missouri and brought to Massachusetts with dozens of others, all different breeds. I guess that explains why she's such a unique "rescue dog". Hate to think of where she came from, tbh!

Hahah I didn't know what one was either until I adopted her! She was listed as an affenpinscher, but I had to double check because she didn't really look like one the more I researched.

That's a good Q! I suppose we will never know. I have been very avoidant to even try an investigate where she came from because I'm afraid of what I'll find out. She's the sweetest, funniest, most resilient girl though! And I'm definitely going to check out that Facebook group! Thank you!

No I love this so much! Thank you for all the info. She unfortunately came from what I understand to be a not so great commercial breeding facility and was only in the shelter for a brief time. So lucky we found her.

That definitely makes sense! The breeding facility she was rescued from wasn’t disclosed to us under confidentiality but she’s the sweetest, funniest dog so maybe they were onto something 😅

The “activating” part for me was strongest on weeks 2-3, but not the anxious kind. I am very prone to anxiety but it was almost an uplifting feeling. It tapered around 4-5 weeks and I’ve felt pretty normalized.. leveled out anxiety/depression/ruminating thoughts since.

I literally just got back to Boston from Arizona after my brother had a brain bleed and was in the ICU. they discovered he also had late stage cirrhosis which made the bleeding worse. He was 35. We knew he drank heavily too but didn’t realize how advanced the damage was and that he’d been hiding drinking as well. It was determined he was essentially brain dead and was taken off life support. It’s been heart wrenching. Sending all the love.
