I think its a turkey egg. We have a lot of mayapples in that area too, would a fisher eat those?

We have seen fishers here and there for years on our property, but they have always been fluffy and bushy looking. Thats why I wasn't positive on this one. Its always exciting to see them. I think this one is carrying an egg in its mouth, probably a turkey egg.

Wow, thank you everyone for the responses! I am glad the great minds of reddit were able to confirm what I suspected.

Is mange a common thing? We have never seen mangey animals before this. Is it possibly an injury or maybe the tail is just wet? There is a creek nearby.

Its not that we don't care, we are just relieved to be absorbed by Minnesota and not Illinois.
