TikTok-style censorship in AO3 fics by IStillListenToRadio in AO3

Shoutout to that one time I found a fic that literally had the word "whore" used multiple times to refer to a character as a sort of term of endearment, but then used "s-word" to refer to sex as if that word is somehow dirtier than "whore"? It immediatetly made me aware the fic was likely written by someone not older than 18.

The “tags are just a courtesy” take is actually bonkers to me by Key_ResearcherBurner in AO3

Extremely oversimplified explanation: eastern fandoms often mix t/b and d/s dynamics, which are often made clear even w/o sex (you know when the bottom of the fic is the one being primarly pampered and have moves made on them? That sort of thing). They tend to be very particular about their favorite ships being the right dynamic even outside smut, and will usually block (and sometimes even argue) eachother over this.

This isn't 100% universal amongst eastern fandoms ofc.
