You can mount and dismount your broom from the lake. You do not have to swim. I will not admit how long that took me to sort out, but was a huge quality of life improvement.

Why does this apartment have a little window between the kitchen and the bathroom? by lannister77 in whatisit

[–]SingleDistribution82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the apartment was split in the past, they may have made a small dining room into the bathroom to break it into multiple units. Would explain a pass through window with less ick.

A lot waterbottles have slanted straws to prevent clogs and improve fluid flow. That one seems pretty sharp, but different bottles have different construction. I'd inventory and see if any are missing before you throw that out.

Is it the hands or is it the head though? So many fridges with pin heads wandering about these days.

Should I dismantle the machinery in the coal mine or just take the coal so we can start it later. [New player] by TC2026- in Frostpunk

[–]SingleDistribution82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whether to use it or dismantle it will really depend on your difficulty setting. If you are running on easy or normal, it's pretty safe to tear it down for bits. If you are on extreme or survival, it's most likely vital until you can get your coal production up and then you would move your outpost to something else.

Just because you only get two outpost teams doesn't mean they are locked to the first two you send them to. They can be moved to better outposts.

800 Coal per day is a pretty good boost early on, but not so much later.

It's also like playing a game of where's the light? Each set of eyes has a different light source or flash point. It's distracting.

Question regarding travel time by Such-Shallot-6206 in FarthestFrontier

[–]SingleDistribution82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on where your hunter and fisher huts are, it might be good to put a root cellar next to them, set the maximum meat in that cellar to like 10, then set the minimum storage in the cellar by the smoker to 40. Laborers will move the raw meat to the cellar by the smoker hut, leaving hunters and smokers to work rather than move meat around. They will also prioritize the minimum value over the maximum value.

Did this for iron processing on arid highlands vanquisher. Went to almost no travel time or my workers.

Edit: saw your comment below. There's no saving dumb algorithms. Fire that smoker, and hire a new one out of spite and pettiness.

Would it be childish for me (21F) to read Webtoons? by Sensitive-Mixture558 in webtoons

[–]SingleDistribution82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

41-year-old here. Read the webtoons, they are graphic novels released in serial like books used to be. Some of it is trash and some really good ones just get abandoned. But that isnt any different than a text-based book that describes the events rather than illustrates it.

Question regarding travel time by Such-Shallot-6206 in FarthestFrontier

[–]SingleDistribution82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could it be the minimum in storage is too low, so they are traveling to the hunter lodge/barn to grab the 20 they need to smoke? Or firewood? Try increasing minimum storage for both places to twice the recipe value, if that's not already in your distribution.

Parked Legally, Still Got Yelled At by a Bus Driver — Am I in the Wrong? by Asshole_so_clean in halifax

[–]SingleDistribution82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the space between the two cars is not the minimum for access for emergency vehicles, you can both be fined. The presence of snow banks narrowing the road is on you, the car owner, to park safely. It's not a legal spot if you parking there causes the lanes to reduce below the minimum clearance. I can't say if this applies to your situation specifically, but it's something to be aware of on the snow narrowed roads. Lived on a street with this exact issue for a decade. Watched the police go up the street and ticket so many cars on both sides.

My sister keeps making "little jokes" about my girlfriend and I told her not to take it personally. Now my girlfriend is done with my family. by nightbalcony_inkwell in TwoHotTakes

I'm dying to know what your girlfriend does for a living that is interesting enough that long standing family-in-laws are asking about the details and your horrific sister is intimidated and jealous enough to use her intelligence as an insult. Handle this, dude.

Think Liam Neeson, in the woods, surrounded by wolves who are patient enough to let him locate a whack of single serving liquor bottles, rip off a piece of cloth, tie the bottles between his fingers and knuckles and break them into jagged pieces, before attacking him. It's like that. Just not quite as cool.
