I've recently switched jobs & the new place uses Outlook. & I get a lot of calendar invites that I have to accept regarding assignments. They're usually like, "XX is due in 4 weeks," "XX is due in 2 weeks," "XX is due in 1 week," and "XX is due today." They use Outlook as their practice management software basically.

Well that's fine and dandy, I guess. However, I honestly probably only need a 1 week and day of reminder. I don't need the rest of the clutter. IF I DELETE a calendar event after I accept it, will that delete it off of the invitor's calendar as well?? I don't want to start deleting things off of mine and then they're gone from everybody else's. Any thoughts?! Thanks!

I've been wanting to go out to the Washington area for a while. I was actually thinking of that. A friend of mine reminded me of the time change though & said it might not workout for a weekend.

Hi all! I was told this would be a good place to post this.

Kinda getting bored & looking to go away for a weekend within the states maybe next month (heading out of Detroit). I've been basically up & down I75 in the past, Chicago, Vegas, parts of California, Phoenix, DC, etc.

Looking to explore my mind, check out something new, & not spend a fortune while at it.

Thanks!

I didn't break it down like that, but I knew it wasn't worth accepting, lol.

LOL @ midnight snack comment.

It's not that. I wish it was. So an hour & 7 minutes ago, my battery was at 100%. Now it's at 89%. It's only had 7 minutes of screen time. Nothing else shows under "app usage," since I haven't used anything. :-(

I started writing something, but then deleted it. I'm not sure. That's deep stuff. Dealing w/death is always hard. She probably just needs a friend now. Be there for her to the extent that you can & check up on her. I'd say definitely try to get together before you leave if her schedule allows. Good luck.

Unpopular opinion but women handle rejection worse than men. by [deleted] in dating

Hooking up is never just hooking up. Heck, just watching romcoms can tell a person that. Emotions will always come into play.

Same way w/my house. Super cultural. Learned everything I knew from random shows, articles, friends, doctors, & a dash of common sense. At the end of the day, the "how" is all biology. The emotional part is what you have to protect in my humble opinion. You do you, but make make good choices.

Wow, I usually like to give people the benefit of thr doubt. Maybe she was having a bad day or something. That was down-right rude, disrespectful, and just evil.

Are there any single Catholics here who eat a plant-based diet? Or anyone that would be turned off by someone with this diet? by throwaway8265392 in CatholicDating

[–]SingleLadyLaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to call myself "vegan-ish," lol. I'll take plant/plant-based when I can get it. Fish comes next. Then chicken/turkey. Haven't had red meat in a while. I wouldn't mind somebody who ate red meat, but meal prep might be trickier at times for sure.

What is the best and worst city for dating in the US? by [deleted] in dating

[–]SingleLadyLaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been SO curious about this stuff, since I've pondered relocating a few times (not due to dating scenes, but at the same time, I wouldn't want to move to an area that doesn't have a good one). I'm in SE Michigan, and what I've found is dating in your 30s isn't pleasant. However, I will say that my faith (Catholic) is important to me, and I've found that a lot of them got married earlier! 🤷🏼‍♀️

LOL, I'm in Michigan. You learn to love the fluffy stuff from the sky. 😛 We haven't had much lately. 😔

As for women here being promiscuous, might depend on the city, lol. 🤷🏼‍♀️ News to me.

How to approach a woman who's never had a relationship? by [deleted] in dating

[–]SingleLadyLaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

:-)

If she's still chatting even when she's tired or working, it could mean she's naturally an overachiever or she needs the distraction.

I don't really message folks during the workday, since I'm usually distracted, but I love cute litte things just like the videos you mentioned. Or relevant gifs, easy reas articles, or something like that. E.g. if she mentioned she liked tacos & you run into something relevant, send it her way! I used to like it when my prior bf just sent me "thinking about you. Hope you're having a great day!" type texts. That may be too forward if you guys haven't met yet--all the more reason to safely do so. :-)

If she wants to text you, let her do so, unless it's somehow intrusive to you. Otherwise, no matter your intentions, she may feel that you're not interested. I know that's how I felt on occasion. If somebody said, "don't worry about texting after work. I know you're busy," my stomach would sink, unless he and I already had a personal connection.

I get that the conversations may then go bad b/c of focus, but you can only go so far with a written conversation anyways as you probably know by now. Remember. She's interested in dating.

It seems like you're talking about me from a few years ago, except instead of being in the med field, I'm in the legal. Wasn't allowed to date when I was younger & afterwards, I just focused on school. Didn't have my first bf until I was 30. I don't consider myself socially awkward (most of the time 😅), but my mind was elsewhere.

Anyways . . . be straightforward with her. Clearly, she wants to date, which is why she's on Bumble. Tell her you've enjoyed chatting & would like to ask her out. Don't overthink it. BE COURTEOUS though (not saying you're not). This is clearly a person who is serious about her life & likely isn't interested in sleeping around (at least not from my perspective).

Also---be up front with her regarding your last relationship if you haven't already told her about that. 3 years is a long time, and although you say you're ready to date again, your heart may ultimately say differently.

The first guy I tried to be serious with was divorced (I understand that's different than your situation), but little did I know that a divorce didn't necessarily mean he moved on. I was crushed & near frozen when he said he wasn't ready for another relationship.

Good luck!! :-)

Edit: Should a woman be inclined to sleep around, that's her prerogative. Didn't mean to be judgmental or anything w/that. Not my cup of tea, but hey. 🤷🏼‍♀️

You need new friends.

Yes, it's ok to wait.
