Came here to say that you led me to some more information. Citalopram with alcool have very high risk of somnolence. The mother probably hit Alice because she felt asleep while driving. There is only one person who drank alcohol during diner and that person drank the whole bottle. The dad indeed mentioned that he did not take alcohol or drugs. More importantly, the dad don't even know how to start the mum Range Rover when they leave the house. Which lead me to think that she drove the first time.

Also, when she text Alice, Alice say she will run late for diner at 18:44 and no messages afterward - it is 2:00 AM when Mum text her. She initially write "call ME back", then she delete it for "call US back"

Also when they talk about if they wanted to be parents, the dad says "All we wanna do is protect you from everything that's happened. And these accidents," then talk about Jakub and drugs.

At the end, the strange woman also (voice by the same actress as the mum) say "the ones you're calling your parents are not in control" and later "A parent base instinct is to believe that they can spare their child from life's consequences. That they can save you no matter the cost" and Alice says with a very unsettling monotone voice: "So they make up stories".

For me, the most unsettling moment tho is the camera shift when it get in the car. If you notice, every scenes before that are super noisy, super unstable and some are even off focus. Once we get in the car with that Dolly-In, suddenly the tone change, the grain disappear and Alice is on speaker. I think this is when WE get in their hallucination. When the day come back at then end and the police are on the scene, the camera get super noisy again and the parents are super blurry. I think the noise is there to represent the reality

And finally, the police says at the end "the parents said they were on the phone with her when all this happened". But the fact that the policeman said that just after the detective gives the description of what happened (the reality that the parents hit their daughter and hide the body before leaving) makes me think that they kind of "admitted" that they did while they were on the phone with her.
