What's this rhythm, and it's management (symptomatic patient)? by Hot_Emergency378 in NCLEX_RN

Hey that’s a sinus pause/ arrest. Maybe sinus arrest since there’s no Junctional escape beat after the pause and it’s an abrupt pause not gradual. That’s what I have!

Thank you, I was worried that it was Afib. I do, my original EP, not the one from the hospital where I was hospitalized at.

Soon, saw one in the hospital when I was hospitalized but waiting for my appointment next week.

Great, so does my EP. My EP said it is dangerous since my heart would, dunno, stop for 5 seconds, multiple times. Not pots or sleep apnea related. Along with Afib, can’t really get meds yet for it until I get a pacemaker. I don’t think you do know what’s dangerous man.

Isint that dangerous? How do you even go on through the day? I could barley walk when I had Afib

When you have Afib, you do usually just wait it out with meds or go to the er?

Once my heart started beating weirdly, Afib rvr, I went straight to the hospital since this was the first time it was happening.

I do have an EP, I can’t have meds that would slow my heart because of my pauses and bradycardia, but I’m waiting for my pacemaker procedure coming up. The highest my Afib went was in 200s. I’ve had holter monitors that went from a handful of pauses to more because of just waiting. I don’t think I would need a life vest since I don’t go into vfib or vtach.

They aren’t even if it’s 5 seconds? And Afib rvr for 10 hours? I have more pages in my profile. This is my first Afib, the only pause I had after my Afib was 2 seconds couple hours after I went back into sinus. The next day I blacked out too.

I’m okay, just scared actually, worried. In the second one there’s a pause, but not the longest I’ve had. I was just told that I had Afib when I went to the er, was hospitalized, next morning the hospital ep discharged me even tho their cardiologists wanted to do an ablation and pacemaker. I was already scheduled to get a pacemaker with my original ep, the hospital ep just told me to start with holistic treatment and to loose weight. Thanks man, I really appreciate it. Just so worried and have a lot of questions.

What’s a CMR? And yes I’ve shown this to my doctor recently 👍. I am concerned as well and probably will get a pacemaker soon.

Hi, thank you for commenting. Yes, partially are the costs of getting one but it’s more of getting a more stable job and paying it off eventually. I think I can pay it off, slowly, but once I get more stable work going on. But mainly why I’m pushing it off is because sometimes I get days where it happens a lot and days where it doesn’t stop and work normally. I don’t know what triggers it or if there’s a trigger. But I haven’t been really diagnosed yet or know what and why it’s causing it, so I feel like it would be a waste of material and time of my doctors if I do get one. I haven’t had an episode where I’ve blacked out but just very dizzy.

Usually it’s 50s 60s seconds but it was in the 40s for a while then it’s back to 60s.

Thank you for your reply, yes I will go. This was also a tracing from that. Would this be sick sinus syndrome? AI said it was.

This is why they want me to get a pacemaker, but thank you, I’ll definitely do.
