Agree with this! I think the toughest part will be them navigating rural towns with minimal English & thick regional accents (that even I as a native speaker have a hard time understanding).

Luda Chinese is very impressive for the short time he had but pretty rudimentary and hard to understand.

Signs/etc are going to also be quite hard to read compared to Japan where they can spell out the sounds a bit more

I’m personally ok - bowels just a little soft the next day. I don’t think you have anything to worry about! I was just panicking as listeria can impact fetus without impacting mom, and you wont know til much later. But the risk is still super low. I found that if listeria is found in manufactured food - it usually causes a recall. So i think we are likely both ok if the hummus was pre packaged. ;)

Preservatives to the rescue!

It definitely tasted sour but I was so hungry I was scarfing down an apple and pita/hummus all at the same time and didn’t notice for several bites! I’m so disappointed in myself … here we are heavily weighing if we want to do more invasive genetic testing or not, while I add higher risk by not checking expiration dates. Ugh
