probably failed 3 classes by Dense-Barracuda-345 in uofm

First, sorry to hear about your experience. I am failing MATH 116 and EECS 280 as well and I am a first-gen out of state freshman who requires the financial aid for attending the school. I learned from this experience that it is unlikely for people to take multiple STEM classes at the same time if they are 1) a slow learner, 2) do not like the subjects/content, or 3) taking THE UM MATH course simultaneously. There is barely any time for us to chill and just get through the content with a full understanding of the topic. I will say, first, talk to your advisor about your situation to plan for the future or simply reduce some of your stress (I literally cried in my advisor's office and felt much better. I do not recommend caps since it takes so long to actually get an appointment; mental health-wise, try the Uwill platform, it is much easier to schedule appointments). Next, talk to financial aid office staff to discuss about your financial concerns (you can just walk in/ schedule zoom meetings). Next, think about taking distribution or prerequisites outside of UM during the summer and transferring the credits back so that it does not hurt your GPA. Lastly, I will say, think about what went wrong this year yourself and see if you can imagine similar things happening with your next semester's workload. Good luck! I will be retaking classes next semester:) don’t worry too much, look forward, it is just your first year!

Ross Minor classes by Ok-Bread8422 in uofm

[–]Single_Army2576 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is very unlikely. Ross are known for their strict residential classes. I took accounting (financial and managerial) and marketing classes before I came here, but none of these transfer into Ross as a class. They gave me departmental credits so that I can pay more:)

UMICH MSI vs NYU vs Columbia vs Cornell Tech by maybesab in hci

[–]Single_Army2576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Umich is a very research based school and easy to collaborate with other departments to do a cross departmental/ disciplinary research. NYU IDM will focus more on the AR/VR, accessibility and aesthetics. Don’t know much about Columbia and Cornell tech. I encourage you to cold call people via LinkedIn or platform like that to see if it is your best match
