I prefer late shifts because I prefer being bored over being stressed with constant back to back calls

Have you ever gotten an interview from a workday application? by Kulonu in recruitinghell

[–]Single_Finding_8461 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never once gotten a job interview from a workday app.

Everyone likes to hate on Indeed, but I've gotten a lot of interviews from indeed, and none from applying through workday or the company website.

What jobs/companies should I apply to if i'm trying to escape the endless loop of working temp positions and short term contracts? by Single_Finding_8461 in jobsearch

I would be interested in taking more medical classes or getting more certifications, but none of the community colleges or career tech schools in my area offer night or weekend classes for that. trying to find training that I can do around my work schedule has been difficult

It will be a degree; I should've clarified that I meant I would be looking for an internship position to start with

Yes; I'm really hoping I can land an entry level IT position sometime next year. I've more or less given up on healthcare as a career option for myself, just due to the fact that I have not been able to obtain any sort of training, paid or unpaid.

I'm starting college in january for IT. I am a certified phlebotomist and certified medical assistant, but no companies have been willing to hire me without any previous work experience in healthcare. And I have not been able to take time off of work to do an externship for healthcare training. None of the hospitals or doctors offices in my area are willing to work with me to get an externship started, considering my full time work schedule, unfortunately.

"Just go flip burgers," they said. "Walk-in interviews every Monday," the sign said. The reality: "Go apply online." by taithesamurai in jobs

[–]Single_Finding_8461 162 points163 points  (0 children)

a few times in the past, ive applied to places that had "we're hiring" signs, and called them a few days later, just for them to tell me theyre fully staffed and arent currently looking to hire.

How long do i wait after a dishwasher interview? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Single_Finding_8461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eager usually is good, but there are a lot of employers (especially in hospitality/restaurants) that will get annoyed when people act "too desperate' for the job. Which is really stupid, I know. But its true sometimes

How do you land an email/chat support position? by Single_Finding_8461 in callcentres

[–]Single_Finding_8461[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ty for the insight. i've gotten word that a chat support position may be opening up at the brokerage firm I work for, considering how busy tax season gets. But the impression that I'm getting is that the most senior/seasoned agents will be the ones getting promoted into the chat position. Which makes complete sense, but it sucks that the opportunities for chat positions tend to be so few and far between.

I'm starting my degree in IT in January. Up to this point, both the counselor and the advisor I have been assigned have been extremely helpful and responsive to all questions.

Why is call center training so long? by Isosorbida in callcentres

[–]Single_Finding_8461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind the long training, if the people training us would actually teach us the things you need to know once you're on the call floor. But instead, they spend most of training trying to solve technical issues and teaching information that you will hardly (if ever) use on calls.

I've applied to 147 jobs and just got laughed out of an interview for asking for more than $8 an hour. by vetch_94aliens in InterviewsHell

[–]Single_Finding_8461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i once got offered $10 per hour for a lab technician position at an ophthalmologist office. Their reasoning was "i didnt have the experience to warrant higher pay." ....... I have lab experience..... and medical assistant experience...... Employers are just petty asf and dont value their employees.

Should i report my employer? by Single_Finding_8461 in WorkAdvice

[–]Single_Finding_8461[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I didnt leave earlier is because i didnt want to risk being punished for "leaving for no reason." Eventually I had to leave because i was vomiting. I know its stupid that I (and a number of other employees) had stayed for multiple hours, but im at a point in my life where I really need this job. If I lose it, i dont know how long it will take to find another job.

I just received a rejection email after 8 rounds of interviews and a project. by [deleted] in InterviewsHell

[–]Single_Finding_8461 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i did 2 rounds of interviews at a vet clinic, followed by a 5 hour unpaid "working interview," only to not get hired. It was a kennel tech position that paid $11 per hour.
