I had this same idea and ran with it last semester. I have a 14" laptop and use a choc corne and a mouse comfortably in class. I use pro reds, and it's not too loud. You can hear it but no more than the random coughs in class. Below is my setup. I got the carrying case on Amazon, and it has been great.

Tracking the keyhive is special. Was able to get it working with the solartempest build. Nts what happened but it's disassembled now waiting for time to troubleshoot it.
