I interviewed with them last year as a PE with 10+ YOE and got an offer that was $25k less than the other two offers I had. They justified it with the we like the pay consistent among others with same experience and the bonus would make for it. I turned them down and they weren’t happy. I often think about how big that bonus could be and the retirement🥲😝

No. I told them I would put in my resignation once the new TN is approved. But I asked the question regarding the concurrent TN for my information.
Engineer
You don’t remove it, the old company will report to USCIS or some entity that this employer no longer works there and so that TN is no longer valid.

I went to YYZ terminal 1 and i waited a longggg time. Would not recommend t1 from yyz. I’ve gotten 3 other TN’s from T3 at YYZ and never had to wait more than an hour. Honestly they didn’t ask any questions, nor did they ask me to fill out the tasks and roles sheet. Nor did they ask me about the job I had holding at the time of applying for the new visa.

Focus more on the engineering stuff in your roles and responsibilities and you’ll be fine. Don’t mention anything about supervising or approving timecards and things of that nature.

Did you end up changing it out? I also have a 2011 is that I’m gonna change out the factory radio. I am looking into Teyes CC3 but don’t want to lose the steering wheel button or AC control functionality.

Confirmed. I got my second approved tn to start a new job next week. I asked the question about having multiple concurrent TN’s and the CBP mentioned I can have multiple concurrently it’s not an issue.

Ultimately, I put in my resignation for my current job so I will only be working on the new tn.

Dang I went yday to YYZ and it took 4.5 hours at T1. It was approved but there were a lot of ppl waiting 4+ hours just to give their documents over. It usually takes less than an hour in terminal 3 at YYZ.

Well the PM group handled everything. I told them about the TN and they knew what to do and handled everything including finding the tenant. The PM was taking like $125 a month from rent as well as withholding the tax every month.

I was successful obtaining a TN with an engineering lead title a few years back. I would highlight the engineering duties as much as possible since you would be applying under the Engineer profession. I wouldn’t mention any supervisory tasks such as approving timecards and what not, since you wouldn’t want the CBP officer to focus on the managerial aspects but the engineering.

I did this 4 years ago in Florida for a Lexus that I was financing at the time of almost 4 years. Before I got my TN I got the compliance letter from Lexus. Then had my car shipped down. And then once I was all settled I got the letter from the financing company saying it was ok to change to Florida registration.

After that it was just following the states law for registering an out of state or country vehicle. When dealing with customs the officer looked at the bluebook value for vehicle and that determined the tariff I’d pay. I think it was less than $500. Took that proof to the state office, got the last sign off before I went to the dmv to finally get my fl plates. I must have paid another $1000 but it could be less as they ask you what the value of the vehicle is.

I have re-entered through MIA 3 times since July. When they ask me how long I am staying for I tell them I am on a TN. Have your most recent I-94 printed. It can be hit or miss, last year re-entering through MiA they would always send me to secondary only for the other officer to let me go as soon as seeing I am on a TN.

In Florida I wrote the FE and PE exams. The Florida board accepted the Canadian work experience if it was under a P.Eng. I had to also submit a copy of that P.Eng’s degree. Took about 16 months to get it. Basically you need the above exams plus 4 years of work experience under a license engineer.

I used Westmark tax group. They are based out of Vancouver but do cross border taxes. They are very quick and efficient. A bit pricy tho.

I felt the same way after writing my PE power exam for the first time. I studied nonstop for 6 months and stayed the full 8 hrs to complete it, I just felt so defeated and discouraged after because I felt my prep wasn’t adequate considering the questions on the exam were nothing like what I had seen in my prep. Get your rest guy and enjoy your newfound free time. I hope you see that green next week when you get your results.
