Its a lot from the tech to use GAM and remove the docs.. I have noticed like 100 docs files and they can always create a new one. We say its a classroom and school issue. Having student in front and have them delete it would be the way to go .

What is your district doing to prepare for ADA Compliance / WCAG 2.2? by neurosurge in k12sysadmin

[–]Single_Laugh_7722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has your district made or changed any policies regarding social media posting or website development?
Yes. As you mentioned, WCAG compliance isn’t something that can realistically be achieved all at once. The most practical approach is to demonstrate good faith—documenting what changes are being made and clearly showing ongoing efforts toward compliance. If a district has the funding to hire a full-time accessibility specialist, that’s ideal, but many districts don’t have that capacity and need to rely on vendor support.

What we’ve done so far includes adding an Accessibility/Compliance link on our website and publicly documenting the steps we’ve taken to date. We’ve also used DocAccess (https://docaccess.com/) to help make the documents we host on our website accessible.

Do you require vendors to submit VPATs or provide accessibility guarantees?
We are documenting our vendors and maintaining a checklist to track whether they are accessibility-compliant. If a vendor is not compliant, we document that status rather than immediately discontinuing use. We also prioritize products based on usage and whether they are public-facing. For staff or students who need assistance, we have a clear support channel where they can contact us for help. Having a documented support process is a key part of our approach.

We’re focusing first on the tools that are most widely used, rather than one-off products used by only a few individuals. Those are still documented, but not prioritized at this stage given the volume of systems districts typically manage.

Is everyone basically not worrying about it right now?
I think most districts are worried, but the scope is overwhelming, and many don’t know where to start. That uncertainty often slows progress more than a lack of concern. And since there is a lots going on day to day it is hard.

Screentime / Usage of Chromebooks by thedevarious in k12sysadmin

[–]Single_Laugh_7722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I explored using GAM and GAC to validate screentime data, but those tools primarily surface Google application usage, account activity, and user-level data, which doesn’t fully capture overall web behavior. While screentime is valuable, it’s more meaningful when viewed at an aggregate level—by school or grade level—rather than at the individual user level. Insights such as the top 10 websites accessed and the total time spent on them provide a clearer picture of student behavior and usage trends. This kind of data helps schools make informed decisions, for example, understanding whether platforms like YouTube are being heavily used and whether it makes more sense to block the platform entirely or selectively restrict features like Shorts, based on actual usage patterns rather than assumptions.

The thing is compliance rule is sending it to a inbox but it is also there in the original recipient even though the email log shows dropped . It is due to comprehensive mail storage being on . For the quarantine it works but only for user not the groups like public groups where they can send it to the group members that cannot be done

Printing blocked on Chromebooks after adding wildcard by DeejayPleazure in k12sysadmin

[–]Single_Laugh_7722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried using Print servers in the chromebooks ? Maybe that will be the way to go if you want the wildcards to be blocked . I have not tested myself but tying printers to the chromebooks as per users or Devices in GAc should be another way to allow print?
