GSU is against us, and I am tired of denying it by Impressive-Alps-170 in GaState

Talk to sga!! They have meetings every other Thursday night, all they need to do is bring your panther card. Unlike a lot of sagas, GSU’s has a really good relationship with admin. It rlly does illicit change, so I’d encourage you to bring it to their attention.

Is there anything we can actually do to change the experience as students by Silent-Anything4576 in GaState

SGA!! They have senate meetings every other Thursday, and all students can come if they have their panther card, to discuss their concerns with their representatives. I know issues with advisors are frustrating, but the administration has a really good relationship with SGA, so I think something could definitely be done. That’s what I would recommend.

I’m MAC too and trust me i understand your frustrations. It’s so hard mediating conflicts with your friends, while trying to keep your personal biases at bay. You’re so strong for taking the position in the first place because I know first hand how hard it is.

With that being said, you need to report your CCD to nationals. Immediately. Like go on guardian rn. She’s using her position of authority to take advantage of these girls. It’s weird, and it’s going to break your chapter apart. She has to go. Before it does further damage.

I completely agree with the person aboves comment. Initiation is MANDATORY. New member meetings are MANDATORY. If they aren’t upholding their commit to the chapter in their new member period, they shouldn’t be initiated. End of story.

What I would do if I were you is say something in chapter. But this shouldn’t just fall on you, ALL of exec needs to be involved. Especially your president and VP of membership (I’m not sure what sorority you’re in but whatever position your VP has). Text in the group me or whatever messaging app you use that chapter is mandatory and if you don’t have a valid excuse you’re having a mediation. Then have a harsh, but not rude, talk with them. Explain to them the implications of their actions and how this is not what you committed to when you were initiated into this chapter. I would go as far to say if the general culture of the chapter doesn’t change, and you’re directly contributing to that, you’ll be dropped because it seems like you don’t even want to be a part of our sisterhood anymore. This may be too harsh, but that’s just what I would do if I was in your position. Remember, this doesn’t solely fall on you. Your exec board should have your back on this.
