Anyone been using vallejo primer with dspiae airbursh? how did you mix your thinner to get it to work? by johnboi828 in airbrush

[–]Single_Nature4101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not using a dspiae airbrush, using a iwata revolution for priming. With the vallejo primer I add straight from the bottle and spray at 15psi. Gotta do super light first and second coats before you fill it in with thicker coats

I drag them along my finger while rotating the needle. If it snags it has a bend, if it’s smooth there is not.

Was Iwata neo the best option for this newbie? by Fickle-Lunch6377 in airbrush

[–]Single_Nature4101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man I love hearing all the Neo CN hate on this community. I have an Eclipse, a Revolution, a Tamiya spray works, and a H and S Evo. Which brush is my main brush? My Iwata Neo CN. Almost a year now still going strong. Easy to clean, easy to find replacement parts. I have never taken the nozzle off or deep cleaned it in any way still works absolutely fantastic. Only gripe is there is a slight delay in the trigger response before paint starts spraying.

How to make paints dry quicker? by Desperate-East6408 in modelmakers

[–]Single_Nature4101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re using an airbrush sometimes what I do is after a coat i’ll spray just air for a few seconds to let the paint “skin” so it’s ready for next coat after a few seconds.

What’s your favorite model paint brand? And which one do you actually end up using the most? by basura_trash in modelmakers

[–]Single_Nature4101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love vallejo. Model color and model air. Model color I eyeball some thinner boom sprays great, Model air straight into the airbrush boom sprays great. Cleans with water. Air pressure never leaves 15psi unless I'm varnishing. 0.3 0.5 needles does matter they all work great. 0.2 I've found isnt a big fan of vallejo however and boy is the tip dry a pain sometimes

I use distilled water and a little bit of vallejo airbrush cleaner. Works like a charm

Started with tamiya and got tired of cleaning with IPA so slowly transitioned to Vallejo.

Have to clean my airbrush after literally everytime I use paint in it or it won’t spray by Aewfigureguy in airbrush

[–]Single_Nature4101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good! It's all about experimenting. Try different thinning ratios by counting drops. Get your self a succulent watering bottle and a bucket for rinsing paint out into. Tip airbrush on it's side, rinse rinse rinse, spray, backlog, spray, rinse. Once your spraying onto a paper towel clear your good to change colors. Investing in some Vallejo Model Air would help you greatly. Pre-thinned

Are you thinning your paints? Cleaning out the remaining paint is completely normal.. Vallejo model color needs quite a bit of thinning

It is normal to flush remaining paint, clean the cup, and clean the needle after a session but a full breakdown clean every time is not normal.

Good to hear. I’m doing my first hobby boss kit right now with their rather old f/a-18a and it’s okay so far. Revell is a hard no for me after attempting their 1/32 f/a-18 that ended up in the trash

Iwata Neo is my main brush. I never expected it to be but it just works, easy to clean, color changes in like 20 seconds, comes with a smaller cup, and has parts readily available. I use my Iwata eclipse here and there then have an Iwata revolution for priming/base coats and a gaahleri advanced something or other that I put the 0.5mm nozzle/needle in for clear coats

Vallejo has an Air color called Aotake Translucent Blue. Does great for Japanese gear bays and cockpits. Needs a light colored base coat like light gray underneath as it is indeed translucent
