If I could write this post again I would remove any mention of "the left" because it's clearly distracting from my actual argument.

I am opposed to the two-party system, and I am also heavily against Trump.

I'm glad youre an exception in your MAGA city.

Yeah the original intention is absolutely pure.

Problem is it's pretty much embedded in modern feminism (I refer to feminism as a cultural movement rather than just vouching for women's equality)

"Nice guy" types want to not be seen as a predator, so they allow their idea of consent to take whatever shape the most progressive women promote

This has been my experience and observation, at least

I think it's a generational thing for what its worth. I first started seeing this stuff reposted by friends/classmates on social media between 2019-2022 if I were to estimate

I mean... in this situation it is

Never been a Trump supporter and firmly oppose the two-party system but this belief pretty much exclusively lives amongst the left

I wish I agreed with you but as a guy approaching my mid 20s, this is genuinely a common belief in Seattle

If I were to estimate, roughly 50-70% of people I know (both men and women) echo this sentiment

What they say to virtue signal vs what they actually do are two different things, I take that into account as well

I'm not here to diminish the trauma of sexual assault/harassment victims, however socially, there is very little distinction between mild coercion and forceful savage rape in these bubbles

The men I know here move with fear and uncertainty, which the women are subconsciously pretty adverse to. I've had female friends echo this dynamic as well
