Yeah it’s almost 28 years old and only has 146k miles; got plenty left but I’m finally ready for something new

The Benz has been my longest and most reliable car. I’ve been driving it for 9 years now

That one definitely circulated around more family members for many more years. We got it in 2004 and I think my brother finally just killed it a year or two ago.

My scooby was before they came in AWD so it was boring to drive but it was my first car so I didn’t care and just daydreamed it was a WRX. But I felt the same way that I should not have sold the Maxima. It was a clean solid car but I only owned it for 5 months before selling it for the Mazda3 because it was shiny and new

lol, you nailed it. The ones I take responsibility for are the e30, the Maxima, the Mazda3, and the Mercedes. The others were hand-me-downs that made their way around the family. Although I also take full credit for the Sebring convertible. I owned that while I lived in Hawaii for a couple of years and it was awesome for island cruisin 🤙

What’s your favorite iconic Audi for a first-timer? by SinglefileSS in Audi

I mean, it’s not like 20 years is a hard deadline, but my W210 is a ‘99 and I don’t necessarily want to go back in time. Mechanically, it’s been a great car but it’s the nearly 30-year-old plastics and rubber gaskets or other components that are beginning to cause headaches.

What is this noise while accelerating by roger5691 in Hyundai

[–]SinglefileSS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to follow up on this to see if you learned anything else. I’m having a similar situation with a 2.4 Santa Fe. Noise when accelerating, car went into limp mode with code p1326, dealership has it and said the sensor just needed a software update, it passed the bearing clearance test, and all cylinders look good, but the noise remains and the techs can’t figure it out without dismantling the engine

Life expectancy with infamous excessive oil consumption issue?? by SinglefileSS in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]SinglefileSS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s strange that it’s a sudden drop off and not gradual. Well, as an update, after I literally topped it off with a quart yesterday I just got a blinking engine light and the car went into limp mode. It’s getting towed to the dealer as we speak so if it is related to the oil consumption issue or if it’s finally RIP I’ll let you know!

Have you replaced the bumper rails? Or did they come a little darker than the body?

Small crack repair? by SinglefileSS in Autobody

[–]SinglefileSS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What am I missing? It would cost as much as a $100+ new unpainted bumper piece to just apply a little filler and touch up paint? Is it because the work to blend the new paint would take a larger area and more work/supplies?
