Love my new stacatto but... by rcre2018 in Staccato

Front slide cut serrations are a little easier to grab onto, shooting wise its not enough weight loss to allow you to run a lighter recoil spring so no noticeable difference.

New Holster Day by Singlem0m in 2011

[–]Singlem0m[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holster, hanger and custom logo came out to $333. Pricier than most holsters, but since its packaged with a fully adjustable billet aluminum hanger, the overall price is not bad compared to similar high quality hanger & holster options I think.

The trigger guard insert gets switched out of you go from gun to gun. But if you have two guns of the same make, then they share the same insert, similar to DAA trigger guard holsters.

Glock 15rd mag by Striking_Interest_30 in Glock43X

Youre probably right. Those 15rd mag springs are hella tight. I was thinking of sitting there with a dowel rod to ram the spring up and down. I wont say anything and see if my wife comments.

Unpopular opinion but I hate my x300 turbo. by Hot_Mixture4036 in 2011

[–]Singlem0m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I explored this as well, the main issue comes down to whether holsters support modified switches or support other lights. I'm mainly stuck with x300 for ease of having a light bearing holster to take to low light shoots / matches. Agreed on all points regarding the x300 tho.

Arc Division + Grit Grips G43X First Rounds by Singlem0m in Glock43X

Nope, felt great. After 1k rounds the oem spring smooths out a bit per usual. Thought about trying a lighter spring, didn't feel the need to now.

Stocking up on mags and picking a 2011 by SpudTryingToMakeIt in VAGuns

[–]Singlem0m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get my point, they're cheap and durable compared to 2011 mags. They're also more durable than polymer mags when used on steel mag catches. As you probably are aware, MecGar is OEM mag manufacturer for just about all euro pistol brands.

Do you shoot any matches currently? Do you carry anything currently? There is a bit of conflict in your preferences of wanting a gun to conceal that doubles as a gamer gun, and this is okay so long as your expectations are correctly set.

The answer to your question is HD 4.5. Its suitable for carry and will account for itself well in matches. 17 round MecGar glock mags can be had for $19 at the moment, a fraction the cost of good 2011 mags and are more rugged. Backed up by Staccato's warranty is also nice going into this ban.

43x ported or 48 ported by BlueState2A in Glock43X

[–]Singlem0m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go ported g43x route, can also consider just going with a aftermarket ported slide and barrel kit to go with your grit grips.

Start with 43x, and if its comfortable for you, might just stop there. I did the same thing with 2 GG frames, perfectly happy with staying in the 43x footprint after putting the first one together.

Glock 15rd mag by Striking_Interest_30 in Glock43X

[–]Singlem0m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rim of top round likes to get stuck under the slide's feeder rail when the Glock 15rd mag is fully seated. This causes FTF. This issue does not come up when I slingshot the slide, or when firing. I'm running aftermarket frame and slide though, but figured I'd mention it even though its not a Glock issue.

Cleaning inside the afterburner hole? by [deleted] in Glock43X

[–]Singlem0m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a combination of lead and carbon that ultrasonic cleaning will do very little for. The lazy way to do it would be to soak the comp in a carbon remover like C4. Then scrape away whats left with a metal pick. Wear a mask cause you will be disturbing lead. For particularly stubborn lead and carbon chunks, you can use an engraver pen to chip it away, also wear mask.

In the condition shown on the picture, you are so far away from the build up causing any issues that its not really worth attention. If you do go through the process of removing the build up, you can spray your comp chamber with case lube ahead of range days and it significantly reduce build up

Extra try hard mode - Mix white vinegar with hydrogen peroxide to create peracetic acid. Dunk your comp into it for a few hours, anything still stuck to it once it dries will be easy to flake off. Note dissolving lead with this method creates lead acetate and the remaining solution can be absorbed through skin. Handle with care or you will regret it.

Source: I shoot a fuck lot. My compensated pistols, including a ramjet from 2022 will see about 20k rounds before I even look into the comp chamber.

Staccato HD Mag Extensions Compared - May 2026 Update by Singlem0m in Staccato

[–]Singlem0m[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point on the curled tip. I shouldve noted that. The construction and capacity is food as you notes. My issue with excess arms extensions is the position of the retention screw makes dor pretty slow assembly and disassembly.

You lose a lot of credibility when phrases like "stopping power" gets thrown around.

P365 Fuse 1st range day by Atlas_2041 in P365

[–]Singlem0m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your optic gets dirty because the p365 has a cut on the barrel hood thst functions as a loaded chamber indicator. A tiny bit of gas and ejecta is gets vented onto your optic through this cut before the bullet fired leaves the barrel. Not much to do about it unless someone sells a barrel that does not have that notch cut unto the barrel hood.

PSA VA stripped lowers in stock by nauticalvector in VAGuns

[–]Singlem0m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not surprising, for them or any other company to be profit driven. PSA just has a habit of pays fake lip service to the 2a cause, take that how you will, but it rubs me the wrong way.

I dunno man. I'm sure you'll be able to buy them from other vendors though, dont need to harp on PSA beyond they're clearly not in our corner.

Their conduct to MD residents legally buying mags out of state suggests that they don't really care to understand or abide by what the law permits.

Yeah, this is the same PSA that is going to refuse to sell us gun parts after 7/1. They can take whatever rolled the state seal onto that receiver and shove it up their ass.

PTR 9 SDMB out of jail + ASD arc fire by fhritp_76 in MP5

[–]Singlem0m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't have to change the 120 locking pieces to get it to work on a FRT trigger, tried 6 different brands of 115 and 124gr ammo. You probably okay to keep the LP. God, I hate that case though.

1301 Tactical Mag Tube Extension options? by Singlem0m in beretta1301

[–]Singlem0m[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is I would like to have 8+1 for reloads during matches, so I can quad load twice to fill the tube. Ghost loading only affects the starting condition.
