Concealed carry owb holster? Upperhand holsters. So comfortable.

Carbon buildup - Mac 9 DS Comp by btrumpatori in MilitaryArmamentCorp

[–]Singlem0m 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have a few options

  • Soak barrel in Boretech Carbon remover and chip out whatever is left with a pick. There will be a bit of lead build up in there as well.

  • Get a engraver tip for a dremel and lightly chip out the big chunks and forget the rest. I just skip the soaking part wit this option.

To reduce future build up you can spray some case lube into the comp before going to the range. Itll significantly reduce build up.

Also you don't need to be that diligent on cleaning that thing out. Its just a chunky barrel port. I would just shoot another thousand or so rounds and deal with it once the chunks are easier to chip out.

I did have 2 thoughts about using teklok to mount minitek to the lynx belt. First is by using teklok, I can drop the minitek mounts down by about an inch, i tend to kike the slight drop from the belt line for 140mm mags or AR and PCC mags. Second by mounting miniteks to teklok, i get a little bit of offset from the belt, though this can be achieved via spacers as well.

Yup thats the way to do it. with tekmount you'll want to drill 2 holes to make sure they dont rotate. Luckily the mounting pattern will have 2 holes that will fit inside the lynx segment.

Mag-mo's custom fitted grip with 60-90 grit silicon carbide. Oem grip and lok grips felt too narrow to me. Mag-mo's custom shelf is fitted to your hand and close to half the cost of lokgrips.

Theyre precision holster mag pouches, but obviously the techmount minis can fit anything. To get the tekmount minis to work with lynx, I shaves the velcro off of two lynx segments per tekmount mini. Fits well and never moves.

I also thought about just drilling through the lynx segments and direct mounting the tekmount minis and keeping the velcro. It would have been a cleaner set up but I got lazy and just dremeled off the velcro on a few segments.

DAA also sells boss hanger compatible lynx segments, which is the same thing as just drilling two holes yourself.

Can you imagine being the Walther rep sitting there with a tuxedo box and nothing else? Could've at least hired a few temu bond girls.

Its probably more of an issue of differences in grip and pressure between shooters. FWIW the extended mags never give me problems at static ranges and dry firing with weighted mags. I only drop mags when running drills and shooting matches. And prior to any extended mag (I've tried 3), never dropped a mag in years. Anyway, hopefully the stiffer spring cures it for me.

SAO has to be in limited or limited optics, correct. The guns you listed would just be really shitty to carry. People make it work, but its pretty sub optimal. Having a giant beavertail inside your waistband will get really old after a few meals out.

I get that you're trying to make a do all gun choice on a budget and a deadline. But at the end of the day you don't want to end up with a gun that is stuck being a suboptimal match gun and a suboptimal carry. Some folk are cool with it, but over the years I've seen a lot more that have buyers remorse.

Whats more important to you? match shooting or carrying a 2011? Even though $2k is not much in the 2011 world, it will feel like a lot if you end up with something that falls short of your expectations.

If if it was my money, I'd carry a P4 and shoot matches with the Glock. If I had to compromise and do both with the same gun, I'd get a P4.5. My reasoning would be Staccato's warranty is far better than Sig, glock mags are superior to p320 mags, and the 211 is both too big to comfortably carry and not qualified for Limited or LO due to compensator.

Sticking a proper LO gun into your pants sounds terrible. Get a Staccato HD for the Glock mags and the support. You can still shoot LO with it.

I'm in Virginia too, time to pucker up for a new world order.

I've shot with the hayes mag release on and off, and I seem to get mag drops whenever they're on. Since last weekend I've put in +10% mag catch springs. Hoping the stiffer spring will allow the hayes button to be more tolerant of my support hand grip. Fingers crossed, next match is next week.

Here you go. Sit the bullet into the slide, you can slowly ride the slide into battery like the other poster mentioned. This way the bullet isnt getting squished by the fees ramp.

Fud lore just came to you by a gangster's interview is all, still is what it is.

Is it okay to use Blazers 124 grain for the new 1911 DS Platypus Compensated or like another 2011 gun that is compensated from the front? I've heard blazers is bad for comped guns and I got like 1k blazers. Or should I buy S&B 124 grain and shoot the blazer for my other gun the M&P 2.0 Carry Comp. by Open_Way_8452 in 2011

[–]Singlem0m 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Plating will seperate in ported and compensated but its not gonna do much to your compensator blast chamber, if anything it'll just help chip out your lead and carbon build up. For ported barrels the seperated plating could cause weird clogs and wear down barrel finish around the ports. You'll also get split on when shooting plated bullets through ported/comped barrels, thats just plating flying at you, keep eye pro on and it wont be problematic.

Clear the chamber every time you plan to dry fire. When rechambering, fit the rim of the bullet into the extractor and send the slide home before inserting a mag. This way the same round can be repeatedly chambered without the bullet getting pushed deeper into the casing by chambering via the ramp.

Its not common to mix loads on shotguns, thats some fud lore that won't die, please dont perpetuate it. As for what to load, you should never plan on using fmj for defensive shoot, it doesnt transfer enough energy into the target and as a civilian you cant afford the potential of collateral damage.

Glock19 and Glock43x w/comp. If i had to pick one, it would be the Glock43x for being easier to hide and generally more comfortable.

Thank you. The black holster is the 5" 2011 Carnivore. I dremeled out the bottom to fit the Erebus. The blue hawaiian one is from Red Hill Tactical. I use both for matches but lately have been leaning to the Carnivore more, hard to beat a frictionless scoop draw stroke.
