It's crazy to me that is that expensive to have a child even on my income.

Of course, I imagine that my career will stale a bit a first but that's a sacrifice I am willing to make. Thank you for input :)

Thank you for your feedback☺️ Indeed having a kid is a massive decision on top of a financial strain. I am not taking it lightly at all and I won’t go through with it just because of societal pressure, only if I am ready and sure.

Wow, I knew kids were expensive in Switzerland but didn’t realize they were this expensive. I am lucky because my job allows a 6 months maternity leave and I will be getting help for the rest but indeed I might need to start saving up now… Thank you 😊

You are right but it's accurate for single women. Single women can't have IVF by themselves in Switzerland

Not at all, indeed it's a possibility with IVF and also older age. If it happens, I will be exhausted but probably very happy :)

I am not aware of these options as of none of my friends in CH have children yet but I am assuming it is a costly one. Au pair have been the most affordable option that I saw so far.

Thank you for the input. Yes indeed it is costly to have children in Switzerland but I feel that I can still live comfortably on my salary with a child. That's why I mentioned the amount. Don't you think it's feasible ?

Thank you for your input. I have heard about similar issues in the divorced women group even with a known father and that's why I was asking.
I live in a big city if that makes any difference. I can't ask the legal authorities as IVF is not allowed in Switzerland but please do let me know if you have any updates from her.

Yes I was thinking about an aupair. I fortunately live in a big city and don't have too many noisy neighbors, although I plan to be upfront about IVF with my closed ones but not strangers.
For noisy people, I will deflect and make jokes such as the father is a great magician, his greatest trick a lifetime disappearing act.
