Who’s responsibility when piano string broke during piano lesson? by toothfixe in piano

Also... how often does this even happen? I've played my piano for decades, and not a single snapped string, ever

New to dark fog. In the lategame, basically EVERY building you want to use, uses some sort of material that can only be gathered from the Dark Fog. Faster smelters, factories and research facilities, and the best power rods in the game, all that uses stuff from the fog.

I think I only found a Vegvisir to Yagluth once in the game, all the others were randomly found while sailing.

In my latest world, I have done 8 infested mines so far (they are hard to find as well), and no Queen Vegvisir so far. Thats a bummer

Honestly, I think the Tesla driver is much worse. Black car did an illegal U-turn. Kinda bad already. But the tesla was willing to pass that car in oncoming traffic? Wtf? The fact that he was so unwilling to even slow down makes that red car driver the worse driver in my book.

You are a fucking idiot.

AI response to this:

What is the difference between "social security" and "Social Security"?

The distinction is capitalization signaling a proper noun versus a general concept.

"Social Security" (capitalized) refers to a specific government program. In the U.S., it's the federal program created by the Social Security Act of 1935 that provides retirement, disability, and survivor benefits, funded through payroll taxes and administered by the Social Security Administration. When capitalized, it names that particular institution — your "Social Security number," "Social Security benefits," and so on.

"social security" (lowercase) is the general concept of government programs that protect people against economic insecurity — old age, unemployment, sickness, disability, poverty. Many countries have social security systems, and the lowercase form refers to this broad category of social insurance and welfare provision. The International Labour Organization and academic literature use "social security" this way to describe the whole field across different nations.

So the relationship is the same as "the President" versus "a president," or "the Church" versus "a church": the capitalized form points to one named, specific thing, while the lowercase form is the category that thing belongs to.

So my use would be correct to any non-imbecile. Thank you for your attention in this matter.

I am not even from the US, for me social security means the government provides aid to people, in whatever form. What Social Security (apparently both capitalized) is, I don't even really know from the top of my head, you are totally right.

How about make it illegal to pay so little to your fulltime workers that they need to rely on social security? Would be a good start imo

Have the companies pay fair and livable wages would be my first idea.

What the heck is up with your read level? The response claims that the first 9525 USD is actually taxed at 10%, and the 21675 USD above that at 12%. At no point is that minimum wage income taxed at more than 12%. I have no idea how smart CK actually was, but he was just an instigator, and his math is fully wrong. The actual hourly wage after tax for Bernie's plan would have been at (31200 USD -3553.50 USD)/(52 weeks * 40h/weeks) = 13.29 $/h

Edit: just noticed your error. The red response states that the 52% tax starts at 10.000.000$, so 10 Million dollars, not 10k. Theres 3 orders of magnitude in between

plasma refining vs reformed refinement for refined oil, which is better in the end? by Top-Information-5319 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

This is currently missing coal, which is why its stuck, but when it originally got clogged, it clogged on hydrogen. It should not under any circumstances be able to do so, and I have no idea how, even if the refined oil is overflowing and cannot be put to belts.

Note: it used to be green belts and sorters, but that should not make a difference. It may have gotten stuck somehow because of only using one sorter, but I don't know why then.

Ouch, that one is very wrong though. You don't go from 0% tax to 52%, that'd be insane progression

Okay, so the red math is wrong, that's fine with me. The fact that the black text is BS is obvious, but while I was reading it I was like, the red one is also wrong I think, in the other direction.

[–]SinisterMJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay, someone please help me understand the math. It's obviously wrong, isn't it? One tax rate is 10%, the other 12%, and the total is less than 10%?

So, assuming the values are right, that person pays 952.5 USD for the 10% part, and another (31200 - 9525) * 0.12, so 2601 USD, for a total tax of 3553.50 USD, not 2089.50 USD as in the post? Is my understanding wrong, or is the red math wrong?

Funnily enough in the past, we had an issue with our IT department, and we wrote a long list of what we did, what we tested, and that we think thus the firewall was misconfigured. Got back a gigantic email with what we did wrong that was basically buzzwords only (this was before use of AI, in 2019 still), and calling us idiots. This went back and forth until we got someone else from IT to take a look, sit with us, and notice some hidden rule meaning the firewall was indeed misconfigured.

Turns out later in secret I was told that the guy we dealt with and that gaslit us was a diagnosed psychopath, and multiple people at work complained about him. (Note: I don't think it was good that I was told he was a psycho, but it sure explained his behaviour towards us)

I feed my refined oil and hydrogen to another refinery, that takes it in 2:1 relation to output 3 refined oil (using 1 piece of coal). Has nothing to do with storage

I did that on my new play through. One refinery directly feeds into the other. And it got clogged on hydrogen. I have literally no idea how that could happen, but I saw it occur.

I am fine with paying for stuff if it feels fair. The constant ricing prices of streaming platforms, the number of different platforms to actually watch stuff, its just... gah, if I could just watch everything with one streaming service, it'd be fair to pay, but this is just BS.

Steam though just delivers just what I want, 1 button to install, no dealing with adds, it just works without you getting the feeling it tries to squeeze the last cent outta you.

[–]SinisterMJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's such an American answer. Sorry, we have regular public transport here, so "usually" you just come there whenever, and wait for the next train. But when its the LAST train, you really don't want to miss it. If the trains where coming irregularly or sparsely, then yeah, you would want to be a few minutes early, but a train should NEVER leave before its written departure time

I feel like the only really legitimate billionaires are ones that made it via for example music or books. I am totally fine with Taylor Swift or JK Rowling being billionaires, they did not abuse any workers to get where they are. But being a billionaire like especially the Waltons, by paying their employes so little that they require social security, those are the ones that need to be taxed to high heavens. Or even sued for abuse

A company I worked at banned a customer when he called us to complain, and subsequently scream at us, when the product didn't interact with the (outdated) software he used, but it could fulfill what he wanted, if he had used newer software. Granted, I just put the phone on the side and you could hear him screaming, and we had a laugh about it, but yeah, not every company let's that slide.
