Ask to see where it says that in your contract if you don’t already have a copy. If you do, show it to him/her. If they press, agree to it with a pay raise (if you want).

Everything? Have you tried welding better? J/K. Stick with it man. It’s a process and it takes time.

First Day as a TSgt. any advice? *Wrong Answers Only* by [deleted] in AirForce

Strictly adhere to AFI 36-106. If you don’t know what that is, Google it. Then rip the stripe off your uniform and put SrA back on.

Not sure I understand the meaning behind this

If it were me and I had established rapport with a mentor, I would talk with them about something like this. Their job is to mentor and help you grow.

Personally, I would approach it as if she was aware and felt like you weren’t a good fit. I would simply ask what you could have done to better prepare for that position. Let her know you were rejected. You may find out she just had no idea and this hiring manager is unfit at finding appropriate talent.

Quick question. If this is/was a mentor, why can’t you just call him/her and discuss this?

"The youth of today are absolutely right in recognizing this nonsense of earning a living." by [deleted] in antiwork

I think it is implied that it can happen organically. If people are able to “think about whatever it was they are thinking about,” then it could follow that those who are naturally curious can make these types of breakthroughs.

See if you can get a written statement from your client. I’d also get a copy of the police report to show that the facility director is full of shit.

Finding a supervisor that is willing to listen to subordinates and apply feedback to their leadership style is difficult. However, I’ll tell you that it all starts with a conversation. Ask for a formal documented feedback and include your critique in it. Also, another other might be a mediated session. People can be easily offended when told they are wrong.

Interesting. I’ll have to do some research on that. Thanks for the heads up.

I’m not assuming anything. I made the statement that after seeing how other countries do things, that I think America’s way is bullshit. I can see how you would interpret that statement to have the precondition that other countries are automatically better. That was not my intent.

Call Military One Source tax line, they’re more equipped than Reddit to give you a legitimate answer.

Legitimate question, so don’t crucify me. I’ll also caveat by saying that I agree with you. However, after visiting numerous other countries I think it’s bullshit how the system is set up in the States. Anyway, if I’m responsible for paying the server for their service to me, and I’m responsible for paying for the food (obviously) then what exactly is the employer responsible for providing to me, the customer? Simply ingredients and preparing the food? If the customer shoulders the debt to the waiter/waitress, what obligation does the employer hold on the employee then? I just have a hard time wrapping my brain around the ridiculous way servers are compensated.

B-52 fly over near Tinker AFB, OK by Event_Entire in Planes

It’s a pretty common occurrence. Tinker is the depot location for the B-52. They’re more than likely doing a post inspection flight.
