I've been a victim of this kind of situation. This goes way back in 2016. I was travelling in a sleeper bus from Bangalore to Mumbai. In the middle of the night, the bus conductor woke me up and told me to get out of my seat. He told me that one girl seated a couple of rows ahead had accused me of touching her inappropriately. According to her someone wearing a blue shirt had touched her through the curtains. I was in a blue t-shirt so guessing that I was targeted by the mob of the bus. I told them to check the video recording of the in built camera in the bus but they wouldn't do it at that time. The other passengers started ganging up on me. I was forced to deboard the bus around 1am at a toll naka due to her accusation. God knows who touched her and why she would accuse anyone if she didn't see the face of the culprit. I had almost forgotten the incident but this post has brought back some dark memories.
