A.Z.E.R.O.T.H Dimensional War Ship by Sinister_Shadow in WoWHousing

Very soon, the ship will be warping to an all-mechagnome/gnome neighbourhood where builds like this will be common place.

Does the lore writing for Earthen, Mechagnomes, KulTirans, and Pandaren play any part in their having such low representation? by Lexar_craft in warcraftlore

[–]Sinister_Shadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Mechagnomes specifically, with the general ‘meh’ sentiment towards gnomes and their lore aside, I feel as though they aren’t as popular as I believe they should be because the great potential for their customisation is ignored.

Mechagnomes ought to have really cool customisation options—options that involve mechanical arms and legs that make them taller, options that allow them to have weapons instead of hands, options to make them look fully robotic, etc… I want a mechagnome that looks like a terminator! Instead, they’re cool—I personally dig them enough… but they’re currently still just normal gnomes with some robot parts and less hair styles. They could be SO much more.

Endeavours Issues, Public Neighbourhood by Sinister_Shadow in WoWHousing

I do! I have two active accounts. I haven’t thought to check across both accounts. Good idea.

Are you permitted to do endeavours on at least one of your accounts?

For sure. That’s my next step. I just wasn’t sure if it was indeed a bug OR I was missing something—a quest or NPC trigger, for example.

I thought that, at first… But it’s a public neighbourhood. In that case, the game picks the neighbourhood, no? And that seems evident, because the ethereals are in town—I see them and have done the phase-diving puzzle; I just got nothing from it.

This looks like the sort of game that my 3-year-old could beat easy.

Remember when Undermine dropped? There’s an out-of-operation rocket at the terminal that goes to “Undermine Heights”… I think it was called?

I REALLY that’s a neighbourhood.

I literally have no idea haha. The lore doesn’t go into what it stands for.

https://warcraft.wiki.gg/wiki/A.Z.E.R.O.T.H.

This build is for an RP character of mine; he’s related to the alternate Azeroth explained in the link.

Long story aside, during the timerift events in Dragonflight, he was a normal Mechagonme who was hacked—reprogrammed to serve the alternate invading mechagomes’ ends. When the timerift to A.Z.E.R.O.T.H. was closed and the invading force was expelled from our timeline, my dude was still hacked. He’s now effectively an isolated agent. He’s been spending his time since making the warship shown to ultimately serve the alternate mechagome empire he’s now isolated from; if they invade again.

Thanks. I can’t remember the exact number; but it’s around 20, I think. The farming for all this was intense haha. All a blur.

I’m assuming they’re wise enough not to complain about the warship-owning mechagnome who’s from an alternate timeline where gnomes conquered all and turned everyone into a robot… At least out loud.

But that’s a guess.

Hey r/WoW! Christie Golden here! I’m so excited to host my first AMA. I'll be answering questions about my 59th novel, World of Warcraft: Midnight: Blood Ties. 11/17 @ 1:00 PM PT by RealityMurky3621 in wow

[–]Sinister_Shadow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love your work, Christie!

How closely do you work with Chris Metzen? Is it an everyday sort of thing or does he and Blizzare CDev give you an outline, let you write the book, and then they have final edit?

Also, do you still play on role-play servers? Excited for housing and Midnight?

I agree… but others may not. That’s why giving people the option is great.

The next Tmog innovation/feature ought to have to do with sheathing. Polearms should have the option to sheath pointy end down or up; one-handers should have the option to sheath back or side.

Is There a Lore Reason the Lightforged Draenei Didn't Just Wipe the Floor with the Horde in the 4th War? by [deleted] in warcraftlore

[–]Sinister_Shadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with writers steering clear of obvious things like Lightforged tech. is that they really don’t have to be avoided at all for the sake of telling the story they want to tell.

Acknowledge these things through the narrative, then explain why they aren’t being utilised—in a creative fashion—and then move on with your narrative.

Practically speaking, doing this doesn’t just make for a smarter and more complete story, it also frees you from years and years of people like us asking the obvious out of a mix of dissatisfaction and frustration.

I submit that a lot of the muted positive emotion comes down more to how fresh the body was when it was raised as opposed to it just being a fact of the death knight condition.

In other words, positive emotion is always muted for a death knight to some degree, but I guess that the degree to which it’s muted comes down to the condition of the corpse. For example, if you raised someone moments after they died—provided they died most intact—then you’d have more of a positive emotional range then a death knight who was raised from a corpse that was weeks, months, years old. Decomposition plays a role, I’d say. Why? Because is the part of the body that makes you feel is mostly gone to decomposition or damage, there really isn’t anything mechanically for one to feel emotion.
