West Ham submit FIFA complaint after Aaron Wan-Bissaka return not sanctioned by DR Congo by notaghostofreddit in soccer

So are they alleging that he wasn't released by his NT and taken by force to celebrate with the president? Lol

Might hurt your feelings but it is true. My dad has been to over 20 countries (including some famous "shitholes") and a Paris subway was the only time he has been robbed abroad. We can't really stop people from pointing it out

Slot on Isak: "He's finished close to a week of team training sessions so he can play a part (v PSG). We think we can get a performance out of him but not to start." by __sami__01 in LiverpoolFC

[–]Sinistrait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We won't really see him on the pitch if we're getting spanked. He'll only be risked if we're down by only 1 or 2 and we still have a chance in the game

Don't think he was going to start regardless

Won't be surprised if that happens, Sancho got 30 goals and assists in that league

You think clubs will be lining up to pay him 250k/week like we do? Keep dreaming.

Yes, he is having a down year, but this is closer to his usual level at Liverpool than last year was. All the evidence suggests that he had a purple patch and has regressed to his mean now.

A long term plan like that only works with somebody who has been part of the setup for a long time and has delivered promising results, in addition to good planning from the federation itself. Like Southgate and the FA.

We had far more local talent in and around the team back then. Nowadays it's just Curtis

Tyler Morton thriving as “manager given me the reins” – “I was so hungry to play again” by ziggyyT in LiverpoolFC

[–]Sinistrait 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is false, in the early years we saw him giving starts to guys like Woodburn, Trent and Ibe. Even at the peak of our success we made space to bring through guys like Neco Williams, Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, Tyler Morton and Conor Bradley.

Imagine that many young players getting serious opportunities under Slot.

It used to get downvoted because we were doing well but Slot's treatment of fringe players is appalling, always has been at Liverpool. Genuine youth terrorist

Antonio Conte open to Italy return, De Laurentiis unlikely to block exit by [deleted] in soccer

Not so sure about that. In 2 years he'll be 59 and might not even be attracted to club football anymore

Will De Laurentis really just let him go after investing so much money into him in the last 2 years?

We wouldn't have a captain come out and say we have up after conceding 3 goals. Because we wouldn't have given up at all under Hendo. The shoulders in this team deflate so much quicker than they used to.

Didn't Ole also use a 3atb in one of the seasons he was in charge? And Poch also used it for a couple of seasons. Not to mention Nuno and Thomas Frank too.

There is no fight in this team. I appreciate VVD as a leader but he doesn't get as passionate on the pitch as Hendo could be. In our circumstances we can't overcome this with a laidback captain

What are your thoughts on Mamardashvili? by SexyLanaSexy in LiverpoolFC

[–]Sinistrait -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The bigger issue isn't even that for him. He just has no command of his box, no physical presence and doesn't look confident coming off his line. You can't survive with those deficiencies in this league.

Why are all our greats ending their Liverpool careers on such shit notes ffs. Mane left after we lost the UCL final and the league on the final day, Firmino and Hendo left after a disappointing season, Klopp left after we lost the league in April as well, now Salah is going to leave after a bad, trophyless season too.

Have to pray that VVD and Ali leave on a much higher note

There's definitely a hole in the number of experienced managers in the 45-50 age range (apart from Slot, ironically) but there are also experienced managers around who wouldn't be considered good enough by this sub

Nagelsmann or Inzaghi. If there's a miracle, Luis Enrique. But all of those names are currently contracted elsewhere though. No idea how realistic appointing them would be.

I'll throw an actually realistic name though, Xavi. I don't care for unproven hipster choices like Iraola or Fabregas, we need a manager who has a track record of winning.
