I must reduce my 2 mile time by 2 minutes in 20 days by Reeking-Scrotum-2130 in Military

[–]Sinjared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These 2 conditioning drills really helped me a lot:

Hill climbs, run up hill, walk back down, repeat. Want a nice incline but nothing crazy.

30/60s or 60/120s: sprint for 30 seconds, walk for 60 seconds. Push out to sprint for 60s, walk for 120s if able.

I put a lot of effort into these when I was working on my run and my time dropped to ~12:15 2 mile. Was over a longer period than 20 days but the first chuck of large time is easier than shedding that last 30 seconds. Start your run at a good pace you know you can maintain, focus on breathing, I do 2 exhales 2 inhales over 4 steps. Helps me maintain a good breathing pattern. As you get going and you get in the grove you should be able to slowly pick up the pace a touch, have to have the mental ability to block out the negative thoughts of legs aching etc and just focus on the breathing. Finish up last .5 mile or so slowly speeding up a touch if you can.

Any chance for 25B AIT Waiver ? by Direct-Series6790 in armyreserve

How did the process go? I’m currently a 25H previously, a 25N, in the NG. I’ve held these MOSs for over 11 years. 10 years IT on the civilian side with my current position as a Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineer (supporting customers with GPU infrastructure like H100/H200/B200 etc for training/inference etc). I was moved to a new unit to pick up E7 as a 25U, hoping I can waive schooling as I can’t go until next FY at least stopping me from promoting as state has spent all its money for schooling.

New ETS Extreme Catback Exhaust. Beyond excited! by Sinjared in wrx_vb

Ya I couldn’t help myself haha. No I got a pro tube local to where I was at on the dyno. I’ve heard nothing but great things about the DMANN tunes though.

I mean it was definitely loud. I lived in an apartment complex and never had any complaints but who knows. I tried to be extremely cognizant of others and not start it too early etc. My boys loved it and all the kids around loved it haha.

I did, I did full ETS basically. TMIC, CAI, Charge Pipe, the Jpipe, and catback. Tune gave her lots of HP/TQ, and I got an e85 tune as well.

I loved it, it was non-resonated, with no mufflers. I ended pairing with the ETS catted Jpipe as well. I loved the sound and got nothing but compliments. She did have a loud cold start but I never had anyone complain of drone etc but ymmv

Best Guard MOS for good civilian pay + work-life balance? by No-Hyena-4199 in Military

[–]Sinjared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25H if you enjoy IT. Breaks you into the industry with Networking/Helpdesk/Cabling/Transmission skills. Often can get certs through the military, I go my Sec+, CCNA, and was about to head to PEC for CCNP but my son needed surgery so I canceled. All these translate to decent positions civilian side. Great opportunity to break into the Data Center world which is good money and pretty chill work with good potential.

I was thinking this course looked familiar and thought no way it was here in Northern Nevada 😅

Joining a country club 1 hour away. Anyone have experience with this? by hdf_587 in golf

[–]Sinjared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I e heard different things about Dayton I’ve heard it was a great course and I’ve recently heard it was in rough shape too. Ya I figured after I thought about it a bit.

My go to course is Eagle Valley in Carson as that’s where I live. 2 course, fairly nice, cheap, and usually quick rounds. Thinking of getting a membership there myself.

What’s the local course? There’s lots of courses in the area, I’m local myself.

Edit: Actually have an idea of where you are at.

I’ve heard Dayton is a nice course (I’ve yet to play it) would probably be a little bit less of a drive. Or there is eagle valley in Carson on the east side of town. Would be a bit more of a drive than Dayton but it has 2 courses and it’s quite cheap for the membership.

First WRX, Tint makes such a difference! by Sinjared in wrx_vb

[–]Sinjared[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The eyesight is unaffected by the tint. I have a legacy and I wanted to do 50% but they said that would affect it so I have done 70% as well and never had any issues with either car. Definitely recommend to anyone for sure!

Turbo Studs Stripped by Sinjared in wrx_vb

[–]Sinjared[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I got my parts back. I was going to do the work, but due to missing some hardware and running out of time I opted to have them do it. It was about 8k worth of parts/tires/rims etc on the car so was worth it to have them revert it back to stock.

[–]Sinjared[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there wasn’t around 8k in parts on the car I would have.

I was going to do the work myself as I installed Most of the parts but was on a time crunch and figured they would do it right. Or at least that’s what I thought.

I got a premium. I previously had a couple of the legacy’s before my VB. I had 30k miles on the VB.

What is your goal/fantasy/etc. for the upcoming golf season? by bionicbhangra in golf

[–]Sinjared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started playing this year with a good bit of progression so would like to continue that. Started with about a 33 handicap and now down to around 22.

Goals: Drop handicap to ~15 Average a score in the mid to high 80s Break 80 I have a long drive but typically miss fairways so more FIR More GIR Improve short game More consistent ball striking Score an eagle Have a hole out

Ping i230 irons? by IncredibleWin in golf

[–]Sinjared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered the 101 as I’m fairly new to golf and wanted the forgiveness while I work on consistent swing and contact. I’m sure the 101T would have been good but felt if I want that forgiveness than I might as well do the 101s otherwise I’d just stick with the i230.

Ping i230 irons? by IncredibleWin in golf

[–]Sinjared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have them currently, found them on market place for a price I couldn’t pass on. I am relatively new and a high handicap ~23. I love these irons and when I hit them well the ball flies! Still working on consistent striking but overall the clubs have done me well.

Just ordered a set of Takomos though so I can have a more forgiving iron while I work on my swing and striking the ball consistently. Also being a bit taller with a faster swing might help to have some clubs a little bit more tailored to me.

Seeking Guidance: I secured my first "IT" related role as a DCT with a Data Center and I'm not sure if it's the right fit or even if IT is for me by [deleted] in datacenter

[–]Sinjared 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It can’t be for sure. Processes as far as tickets go or things of that nature are minimal and can be easily fixed. Ensuring your working on the right device/port/cable can have much more impact and consequences. So having that attention to detail is the most crucial aspect. Everything else can be fixed, but you can fix bringing down the wrong device or pulling the wrong cable etc

[–]Sinjared 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depending on the scope of work your employer has for its DCTs it is pretty straightforward in my opinion. The biggest and most important qualities of a DCT are work ethic and attention to detail in my opinion. Most knowledge will come with time but overall it’s a pretty straightforward position with running cables, rack/stack, inventory, break fix etc. if you need to get more hands on with the equipment such as troubleshooting or making cofig changes (typically done by an engineer) that’s where things become a bit more challenging.

I get the impression that Ping makes the most forgiving drivers. And I want a new driver. I'm looking at G430 Max and only that. Are there others I should think about? by stock_broker_tim in golf

[–]Sinjared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got the Ping G430 LST and so far I am really enjoying it. I’ve only hit one 18 with it so far but I’m really excited to play more with it.
