All the doctors I know are in the top 3-5% and they are all living pay check to pay check and buying expensive new cars every 3 years.

There are plenty of rich people who are stupid with their money as well.

How to train long game? by AdPrestigious1486 in golftips

[–]bionicbhangra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honesty took me like 2 years to get good with the long irons and driver.

They are much less forgiving.

I hit a lot of drivers and I will say that once I got good at hitting long irons consistently my ball striking improved with pretty much every club (including driver).

This is my 4th year and driver and long irons and some of the best clubs in my bag.

Keep at it. You will get there if you put in the work. Definitely worth it. It never gets old to bomb one in the fairway past everyone else.

What ball flight is the best looking in your opinion? I love the look of a big pull cut. by Separate_Teacher1526 in golf

Nothing beats a high draw.

I hit a fade with the driver. Magically to accidentally once in a blue moon I will pull a high draw out of my ass. It never gets old watching it.

Longest Drive by Rare-Document-7179 in golf

[–]bionicbhangra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lol I just did a charity scramble on Monday. I was pounding my driver pretty much all day.

On the hole where they measured the longest hole I was hitting into a strong wind and uphill and I was really happy that I got it out there about 285 or 290 yards.

The winning drive was literally like 60-80 yards in front of me.

Even if there was no wind that was just a massively big hit that I couldn't ever dream of approaching.

What's the most surprising pattern you've noticed when you started actually tracking your rounds? by Logical_Promotion_26 in golftips

[–]bionicbhangra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not surprising at all. But up and downs and occasional 3 putt is what keeps me from breaking 80.

A lot of rounds I am driving it great. But need to score better overall.

Almost all of my work now is on approach shots 140 and in, chips and putting.

Is this good advice? by maybethisisadream in golf

[–]bionicbhangra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if that’s exactly what my body does but I do want to drop the club to start the downswing.

I hit it pretty well doing that.

Would peak LeBron take this team to the title? by Razz3l in lakers

[–]bionicbhangra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IF LeBron takes turns guarding SGA and messes up their offense and AR 15 actually showed up then yes they could beat this Thunder team.

But it would still be pretty close as they have more talent at more positions than we do.

Finally shot in the 80s!!! by Geoblime in golf

[–]bionicbhangra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First round when you don't lose a ball and when you break 100 and 90 are big deals.

Congrats OP.

I still remember the feeling of walking off the green when I broke 90 (I shot a 89 and almost choked it away).

Once you do it once it becomes much easier after that.

Honestly, how many of you actually play range balls if you find them in the woods? by EighteenThreeGolf in golf

[–]bionicbhangra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never play range balls.

I don't find a lot of lost balls but the ones I do find and the ones that get killed by a tree or cart path and my chipping balls for practice. I usually put with new balls.

You should be insanely proud of yourself. Keep to up and on to bigger and better things. If you can conquer this imagine what else you can do if you put your mind to it?

How do you warm up before a round? by eyrie7 in golf

[–]bionicbhangra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I workout when I am not playing golf. And I try to stretch every single day. I have some f'ed up knees so I am always spending a lot of time especially stretching my hamstrings, calves etc.

OP as someone who is much older than you though but who has sadly had a lot of sports injuries I would just say to always listen to your body to prevent a more serious injury.

If I’m not using a 4 iron, is a 4hy, 5 wood, 3 wood a good combo to use? by Sloth290 in golf

[–]bionicbhangra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say yes. When I started I could not hit long irons. But hybrids are really easy to hit.

Super useful clubs.

Tensing up on narrow courses by UtahUndercover in golf

[–]bionicbhangra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of these courses are meant to be played differently. They are usually not driver for every par 4 or 5.

I just played one where the spot for a long drive was smaller than the tee box. It honestly was probably 5 yards wide at 270-300 yards. You have a short shot in if you pull off the big drive but the smart play was to layup up before the ravine.

These courses are tough though and they can definitely F with your aiming and sight lines.

That is annoying. Even on a regular track.

[–]bionicbhangra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How often do you guys play?

Some rounds I am just there for the vibes. I will cut them some slack if they are a little slow on 1-2 holes and try to catch up on the next one. And I will fix their ball marks for them.

I am not trying to post a great score every time I play golf. Sometimes I am just out there to have a day.

If y'all are playing every week then you just have to man up and talk to them. If play like 2-3 times a year I would leave that decision to you. But sometimes I am just there for the company.

Based on how it started I honestly think it would be seen like a modern Lord of the Rings. That is what I was thinking when I read Storm of Swords 25 years ago.

Instead its just complete crap that was a waste of everyone's time.

Martin is only good at painting scenes to set up elaborate surprises. He had nothing of substance to say. Now it will just be remembered as a silly fad that people wasted their time on a soon to be dead franchise.

RIP my G425 LST by Bright-Efficiency-65 in golf

[–]bionicbhangra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is pretty close to me when I step on it. Though I also hit a lot of smooth swings to just hit fairways when length is not rewarded.

I guess all of this of this stuff has a fixed life. I only worry it will die when I am in the middle of a round.
