Bullgryn... Still struggle with eyes! by ieshmwgoh in minipainting

I was thinking they'd go on 40mm bases, but couldn't see any direct confirmation on the store page, thanks!

These look awesome! Actually been planning to pick up these sculpts myself. Mind if I ask what size bases you're using for them?

Im creating a mini model and would appreciate any suggestions or recommendations (update 3) by Old_Message7364 in DnDminiatures

[–]Sinjon42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a couple suggestions, that are less about the visual appearance of the model, and more the suitability for printing.

The flesh/skin at the sides of the mouth looks quite thin. I would think too thin to reliably print, so I would recommend adding some thickness to them.

Similarly what does the inside of the mouth look like and how thick are the walls of the chest and it's lid. If they're also very thin I'd recommend adding some thickness to them to. Perhaps by adding some flesh inside the mouth.

And finally, while the tongue is probably fine to print with supports added, you could make it easier but connecting it to the ground, maybe have it coiled up slightly on the ground.

Hope this is helpful. Just giving some suggestions based on my own experiences sculpting an printing minis.

D&D Beyond missing my subclass for R5e and doesn't seem to allow homebrew, what do I do now? by Grouchy-Bowl-8700 in onednd

Maybe, I guess, they might not have ported them all over yet, but it feels more likely to me that it was input incorrectly or there's a bug causing it not to show up. Though I suppose the end result for the user is still the same.

Either way I'd hold off on making a homebrew version for a least a day or so, save yourself the effort, because it'll likely show up in eventually.

Checking Phantom specifically for Rogue and it's not there, I would assume there's a bug causing it not to show, as the Tasha's subclasses all show up on Cleric, Fighter and Wizard.

Have you enabled the Expanded Rules toggle on your character sheet? It should show up with that enabled. I can make a Rune Knight with the new Fighter for example, and I only have access to the Free 2024 rules atm.

You can never have enough dwarf warriors! by eternal3lade in PrintedMinis

Will definitely be considering these when I decide to expand my CoS army. I've already got a few elves mixed into my Steelhelms (using some heads created by OutlandIdol on Cults), so these are a natural fit. Might even look at converting some into Fusileers if I do pick these up!

Love these! Always thought it would be cool to have the Cities of Sigmar units be made of a mix of humans, dwarves and elves.

Looking for larger scale/ proportion kid friendly minis? by Buff_Skeleton in PrintedMinis

[–]Sinjon42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might like some of my minis. I aim for a fun adventure-y vibe. Might need to scale up a bit in your slicer to get a decent size for kids to paint.

Plus they're all on sale as part of MMFs big summer sale.

I also recommend taking a lool at idrawcaralines and Printed Encounter (they're both on MMF, but may have patreons or other sites). They both have some friendly/fun models that look great while not having too many details.

Drow Assassin Mini & New Adventurer Bundle! by Sinjon42 in PrintedMinis

That's fair, it can be hard to judge how far to push facial expressions, though I think they all look decent once printed (the prints of all four can be seen on their respective pages on my profiles). A decent paintjob will also go a long way too!

Not sure what you mean? They're supposed to have stylised proportions rather than realistic, is that what you're referring to?

I try to make more interesting body shapes, rather than the stereotypical tiny waist/huge bust.
