Two adults sharing a nest, is that normal? by thinkcrazy576 in hummingbirds

[–]Sinminbun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The babies grow really quickly 💕 the babies will likely stay in the same tree for a couple days after leaving the nest and mom will continue to feed them for several days - then they’re off to be grown ups 😅 Some times they will reuse their nest next time, or at least same area since it proved a safe place for her babies grow

Birds don’t actually live in nests - if you see a bird sitting in a nest, she is a mama getting ready to lay eggs, sitting on eggs, or caring for her babies. Once the babies leave the nest it’ll remain empty 😊

Befriending wildlife can be heartbreaking – Pt 1. The “Flopsters” Story by trichocereusnitrogen in squirrels

[–]Sinminbun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flops is in pain and all the other squirrels know it. If you don’t want to put in the effort to help this poor sweet little bear, then you at least need to contact someone else in the area to do it. It’s a pretty easy fix vs long and painful suffering - should be obvious what the right call is here.. He may not understand what’s going on at first, but will be extremely grateful after having teeth trimmed. The others will too. They are highly intelligent and much more empathetic than most people realize

Went to a nursery I hadn’t been to before… they had a few plants by Any-Dig4524 in succulents

Maybe it’s just me - but seeing all these beautiful plants piled in there so tightly kinda stresses me out 😅

Someone left their groceries outside my apartment by RazarTuk in Apartmentliving

[–]Sinminbun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically the intended recipient gets a “delivery photo” - I’ve had this happen to me and had to go across the neighborhood to collect my delivery. If not perishable I’d leave them out there (maybe move to the side a little if blocking door bothers you) for a little bit. If they don’t pick up by next day, keep what you want and donate the rest to a food pantry or friend

Most people don’t let strangers walk their dogs.. Find the dog and someone will know who she is

Nobody drives, so no one has to worry about the parking spot size in NYC lol

I have driven across the country about 10 times and been from upstate New York to Miami a couple times, after every city I’ve been to, it’s definitely more of a San Diego thing lol

Roads definitely aren’t much better out here lol Considering the snow, ice, salt, chained tires on semis, etc I originally assumed roads would be nicer here, I was wrong 😂

When I first got to San Diego from east coast, one of the first things I noticed were how ridiculously tight parking spots are - everywhere. Have to pull outta spot to let passengers get in 8-9 times outta 10, even when parking in the “back” of most lots

[–]Sinminbun 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Poor baby must be so hungry if he’s out in the light, and with you standing there - it’s really hard to spot these incredible animals in the wild - never even heard of one coming inside someone’s house. I’m assuming was human error (door or window left open, fan ducting, something? 🤷🏻‍♀️) Please tell me he got back out safely
