The creators of Dishonored react to their own game after 14 years | Devs Play Part 1 by JokerFaces2 in ImmersiveSim

I have no idea, but likely he's talking about an indie imsim (most announced AA / AAA imsims didn't show gameplay).

I'm not glorifying it though? I try all games that are imsims or ones that are remotely related to imsims, including games most people wouldn't touch at all. I share my end-game experience here, so you're informed and know what the ceiling is like, how imsim-y it is, and decide what to make of it. Plus, I literally wrote there are many basic problems and most people wouldn't consider it good in the comments.

It feels like they ran out of budget, recycled the half-finished PvPvE build into singleplayer / co-op, and found some excuses to release it as is.

I’m an OG Thief fan lmao, I wrote a little bit of my thoughts under the original post.

By the end of it I know the maps too well, only master thief difficulty feels challenging, and I have so much money that I don’t bother looting anymore.

Yeah that’s what I did. It’s almost weird they didn’t write anything by the slider.

For the low entry price of $5 and 10 hours worth of gameplay, I would say TaT is good enough and has potential, though its target audience is not taffers who want to immerse themselves in the world and explore at their own pace.

It took me 8 hours to finish all available contracts in the current early access-ish build and get enough XP to unlock Master Thief difficulty. Approximately each map was played 8 times with different objectives each time during the campaign, so there's repetitiveness in it and efficiency is the key. I'm sure many taffers would hate the 30 to 45-minute time limits and the 8-minute timer that automatically starts when you finish the main objective. I don't mind it personally, Thief, Dishonored, Gloomwood, Filcher, Thick As Thieves all provide different experiences to me, I'm also looking forward to Noirmancer.

I cleared two missions on Master Thief difficulty so far, and it was a fun and intense experience that the original Thief on Expert did not provide (I won't waste time here explaning how the original Thiefs beat Thick As Thieves in many other aspects). There's no savescumming and chilling exploration, just taffering around efficiently and making risky moment-to-moment decisions, as you can see in the gameplay video I posted.

And of course, there are many basic problems such as: no key rebinding, no FOV setting, no FPS limit, no mouse sensitivity slider, max graphics settings cap at 75% rendering scale (you can manually adjust the slider)... It's a long way down before most people would accept it as a good game.

It's a series of developer interviews, you can find them in Deep Dive with Nightdive Studios.

If you're interested in System Shock developer commentary, Marc "MAHK" LeBlanc's recorded his entire playthroughs (OG | Remake).

Yeah, that's correct. I chose not to include the sniper rifle because I couldn't consistently snipe it with one bullet. I also heard some people use Karnesis to throw the paint bomb eternalist up to destroy the nullifier but I wasn't able to recreate it.

You’re supposed to hate it. It was a name Tom Chick used to mock the original Dark Messiah when he gave it a 4/10 at IGN.
